I've thought about trying to BC a project, but I'm not sure I have the patience for it. If I do anything it would likely just be the Pillsbury chapter for a collection, but if you'd like to do the whole works I can wait until you're ready to take it on. There is no shortage of things to work on.

Sections 22 & 23 PL OK

Thanks Phil!

Yikes, I didn't realize there was action here until I was cleaning out my mailbox tonight. I had sorted by sender and Lo & Behold there was an unopened one from LV two days ago! See what happens when I ignore the computer for a day or so.

And another one for your list, Jill -

This is a link for volume 1 of Minnesota in the Civil and Indian Wars 1861-1865. Both volumes are available in several places on the internet. Some may be more amenable than others.

Thanks Phil! You're trucking right along on your sections.

That looks like another great one you found! Another Flandrau. I put it on my list. I found this one (below) a while back that I thought looked interesting, too:

With that many found, maybe you should start a topic in "Book Suggestions" and call it something like Minnesota Books.

And section 37 -

Track length: 11:03

Sorry - no more new finds. The last one was actually a plug Flandrau gave himself in section 25.

I think David is on to something. It could be called "Uffda Minnesota Books by Golly!"

Oh, okay, maybe there was another one or two-

Thanks again, Phil. Apparently I forgot to put Section 25 in the MW yesterday, sorry about that! Just noticed that when I was in the MW now and thought: "Didn't Phil do them in order?".

What is the purpose of the book suggestions list? I thought it was books you wanted to be done but that you didn't want to do them yourself? Maybe I am mis-remembering. I do like the name you came up with though. :)

For now, I'll add these other two to my personal BC To Do List. Thanks a million for your quick turnaround on these poor orphaned sections.

Jill

ETA -- Just realized these two books are by W. W. Folwell. I went to Folwell Junior High back in the day, I guess this is who it was named after. Kinda cool.

I think that is pretty much the gist of the Book Suggestions list, but often it seems books are offered up as ideas and then just languish there. I wander by there fairly frequently, but seldom leave with anything. I most often find subjects that interest me in the Readers Wanted forums or the Launch Pad. Also external sources like Writer's Almanac, new articles, lots of places. I already have a pretty good idea of the types of things that interest me, history for one, so unless something falls within those bounds I usually don't pounce on it.

The quick turnaround was easy. Sections are short, the language easy, the topic of interest to me and I have the time. :D
Now for Joy to do her magic to see if I'm off the hook for the time being. Look forward to your future projects.

Yup-William Watts Folwell - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Watts_Folwell I took classes in Folwell Hall at the U of M.

Thanks, Joy. I'm in the Land of 10,000 Lakes for my mom's 95th birthday. Chilly wind here. My crocus at home have been blooming for a couple of weeks and the tulips are ready to go. Alaska has spoiled me for MN weather.
