Rilla of Ingleside by Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874 - 1942).

This project is complete! All audio files can be found in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/rilla-of-ingleside-by-lucy-maud-montgomery-2/
Anne of Green Gables is all grown up and married, and this is the story of her daughter “Rilla”, named for the indomitable Marilla Cuthbert of Anne’s childhood. The young Rilla will need all her strength for the dark days ahead, as her coming of age will be in the midst of World War I. Her brothers and sweetheart will go to war, and not all of them will come back. Her sisters will become nurses, but Rilla herself is too young. What can she do back home to support the war effort? How can she be involved in doing good in her own backyard? What difference can one person’s ‘keeping the faith’ make in the titanic struggle of world events?

LM Montgomery, in this final installment of the Anne of Green Gables books, takes us through the terror, the suspense and the sacrifices of ‘The Great War’ as told through the eyes of Rilla. Of course, as in any girl’s diary, there are also chronicled the romances of Miranda, Gertrude, Mary and Rilla herself. At the same time, the small details of everyday life lighten the drama with humorous stories of the antics of the Ingleside cat, the putting on of a wedding with one day’s notice and ‘that prayer meeting’ which will forever go down in the local lore of little Glen St Mary! 1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (Only for the DPL!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/3796
Please read from the Text links in the Magic Window - scroll down past the character listings!
    5. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Please note that Rilla and Susan Baker are claimed - but there are 70 more characters unclaimed!

I'm also looking for help with the PLing of the parts please.

Perfect, thank you! She speaks French and is the one they consult about pronunciations so that should suit you! ;)

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for my DR commitments so I think I'll be ready for another one soon. I would be delighted to read Gilbert. At least in the first few chapters, his lines are actually few.

May I play Anne Blythe? I may be able to help PL the final chapters as well but I'm not going to commit to anything yet. ;) Thanks!

There's discussion in the Admin area about this project. I'm locking the thread for now to keep further claims from coming in before a decision is made. In the meantime, those who have claimed parts, please do not record them just yet.

Thanks!

Sorry about that! I didn't take into consideration the 2 dramatic readings limit per BC rule. So this project needs to be put on hold until this limit can be met.
Let's keep our excitement for this project till then!

ah, a new dramatic reading. And this time I'm earlier at claiming. I think I could try on Cousin Sophia. There's probably a lot of fun in playing so depressed. :)
