Meant to say in earlier post that for accuracy, Section 2 title in MW should read THE LOST PUPPY.

I would like to claim section 15, 'Mercy's Reward', by Sir Edwin Arnold, if possible.

I'd also like to mention what I think is a cataloguing error. A quick search for his name appears to suggest that he's been conflated with his son, who was also named Edwin Arnold, but who wrote under the name Edwin Lester Arnold (and wasn't a Sir!).

Sir Edwin Arnold's (1832-1904) wikipedia page is here, if that helps to clarify:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edwin_Arnold

and his son's, Edwin Lester Arnold's (1857-1935) is here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edwin_Lester_Arnold

I believe the completed works of Sir Edwin Arnold's are the Bhagavad Gita, 'Niagara, the June Bride's Paradise', and The Song Celestial, and that the works in the catalogue that are Edwin Lester Arnold's are 'A Dreadful Night' and Gulliver of Mars.

I'm sorry if this is a bit of a headache! If I can help, please let me know.

You have the poem to read, Erin.

In regard to the authorship:

First, I cannot find any definitive proof one way or the other. It is included in at least one other anthology attributing it to Sir Edward, but there is no primary source given so that proves nothing. The Poetry Nook does list it along with many poems that are his, but there is again no primary resource cited. http://www.poetrynook.com/poem/mercys-reward

Second, nonetheless, this really lies outside of the LibriVox mission which is to record published works in the public domain as they were published. Adding anything to the work, such as commenting on errors, is beyond our scope. At least that is my understanding. If our admin/meta-coordinator wants to comment on this, that's fine. I'm always willing to learn.

Thanks for the stimulation discussion though!

I am leaning toward Sir Edwin being the author of the poem in question. The whole tone of 'Mercy's Reward' follows what (very) little I have seen of his work. It is a collection and the source may be known only to J. Earl Clauson who gathered these works.
Then again, I could be wrong.
