Bible (KJV) 17: Esther (Dramatic Reading) by King James Version (KJV) ( - ).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/bible-kjv-17-esther-dramatic-reading-by-king-james-version-kjv/
The seventeenth book of the King James Bible, Esther recounts a tale of two queens. Queen Vashti is the loveliest woman in the land, but when she refuses to come to her husband's banquet, she is banished from the kingdom. Hadassah is called to take her place - a beautiful young woman with a secret. Hadassah is Jewish, but her cousin who is her guardian warns her to keep her identity hidden. Taking on the name Esther - which means "hidden" - she moves in to the palace, but when a wicked man hatches a plot to rid the land of Jews, her cousin asks her to take on a terrible job. Esther must go to the king unasked - and if he does not extend his golden scepter, she will face the ultimate punishment. Can she rely on God to save her people - and herself? (Summary by Rachel)

Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here

Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (DPL only): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/8017

This is pretty short, the finished audiobook will run under an hour. List of roles (chapters they appear in) -
  • King (1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)
  • Memucan / King’s Servant (1, 2, 3, 6)
  • Haman (3, 5, 6)
  • Esther (4, 5, 7, 8, 9)
  • Mordecai (4, 9)
  • Zeresh (5, 6)
  • Harbonah (7)
Since chapter 10 is only three verses long, and has no talking, I have combined it with chapter 9.

I am asking for Word Perfect reading.

I'm not sure if my Dad is going to read Haman, so I'm reserving the role for him.

Rachel :)

Hi,

This is so cool! I've always wanted to do DRs of the Bible! May I play Esther? And may I PL your finished chapters?

Hi SweetPea,

I'm recording my sections right now, but I can't get the link for Chapter 7 to work. When I click on it it always takes me to chapter 6, and chapter 6 link takes me to chapter 6 as well.

Thank you!
