Chapter 7 is PL OK!

Still a small problem with the file naming, though. :)
There should be an underscore between kephart and 128kb. No need to re-upload just for this. Jo can rename it in the background rather than putting an extra file on the server. Just watch out for it next time.

Hi Sarah --

Here is Section 22. More interesting than Section 21, especially all the safety precautions at the beginning. I'm sure they apply today for chainsaw users.

https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/campingandwoodcraft_22_kephart_128kb.mp3

Duration 40 min 30.9 sec

Please let me know if I need to make any corrections, and feedback is always welcome about the volume etc.

Cheers

Jut an update on my cookery chapter: I've done a first read-recording of all 3 of my sections here (11,12,13), and edited one....but I want to have my husband listen to them and double-check before I submit them, since they're so long I often miss things, AND his eagle-scout background will catch if I mispronounce* or mis-emphasize something. (mis-emphasize, like if I think that the particular wood named is the interesting part of the sentence, but everyone knows that, and really the position of the wood may be what should have gotten the emphasis. I especially need this with the cooking the parts of the animals -- I know breads, not sweetbreads.)

*(I once recorded an entire book for him about Eastern Shore (Maryland) Watermen (not librivox, just to listen to while commuting) , and I pronounced "forecastle" the way it looks, instead of "FO'k'sl" -- and the word was scattered everywhere. Same with all other boating terminology. Because he loves me, he thought it was cute, but I don't want to subjuct all librivox listeners to that level of confusion.)

Part 11

The one with all the squirrel-impaling (#13) is a touch shorter, and I've done my-level of edits tonight - if I can get my husband to doublecheck me, then yay!

5 is PL OK
(I spot-checked it ages ago, but must have forgotten to update the MW.)

Chapter 22 PL notes:
-there is a noise like the wheel of a mouse turning, regularly throughout the chapter, most noticeable at:
6:17-6:18
8:43-8:44
12:26
13:11-13:14
15:35
17:43-17:50
-at 14:48, "white gum" should be "white elm". Completely optional fix as it's well within what's acceptable on a standard PL. I just happened to be following along at that moment.

Section 11 PL notes:
1:17 stumble, "when ca.. when one can"
4:13 background noise
11:15, teaspoonful should be tablespoonful
12:57 stumble, "required"
24:50 missed edit, "Bake to a nice brown"
26:20 missed edit, "snow"

ETA: April, when you re-upload this, you can also fix up the file name... it should be _128kb rather than -128kb. :)

Hi there - welcome back! Your file name will need to be changed as the BC and MC shortened it midway through the project, but don't worry about it until I PL the file. If you have things to fix, you can do it all at once. If not, Jo can do it in the background.

13:05, sounds like a missed edit, "in...into"
28:47, missed edit, "and 184.5° at 15,000 feet."

PL notes for Trophies, Buckskin, and Rawhide (section 23 / chapter 19):
-filename should be campingandwoodcraft_23_kephart_128kb.mp3
-intro should be "Section 23 of The Book of Camping and Woodcraft: A guide for those who travel in the wilderness. [LV disclaimer.] The Book of Camping and Woodcraft: A guide for those who travel in the wilderness, by Horace Kephart. Chapter 19. Trophies, Buckskin, and Rawhide."
-Outro should be "End of section 23."
-there needs to be 10 seconds of silence at the end of the file
-the volume is about 81dB and our standard is about 89dB. You can amplify in Audacity (check the wiki for instructions if you need help).
-there is quite a lot of background noise. I'd suggest giving it a light noise-clean (again, check the wiki if you need instructions).

Hi Sarah -

Thanks for that. Your high frequency hearing is much better than mine, but I did (barely) manage to hear the funny squeaky noise. I don't know what it is - actually speculate that it might be my neighbour's snappy poodles.

I hope that I have cleaned it up enough. I've also changed to white elm.

I've updated the MW

Hi RoboticLobsters -

When you do change you file name, the Section number is 23, so it should be named campingandwoodcraft_23_kephart_128kb.mp3

Thanks
