Hello Phil,

I would like to claim 33, King Borria Bungalee Boo, as well as 37 through 42, The Story Of Prince Agib, Ellen McJones Aberdeen, Peter The Wag, Ben Allah Achmet;—Or, The Fatal Tum, The Three Kings Of Chickeraboo, and Joe Golightly—Or, The First Lord’s Daughter.

I will not claim #35, Thomson Green And Harriet Hale, unless sheet music or youtube video for "An 'Orrible Tale." can be provided, because it's very difficult to sing to the tune of a song I don't know.

Sincerely,
Mike S

Certainly Mike. 33,and 37-42 are yours. I can't provide any music for 35 so we will have to leave this one to someone else. (Although I did not know there was specific music for these). :D

Hello Phil,

Thanks, recording now. That's the only one I see which calls out what I assume was in the period well-known music. If you'd rather call out a different piece of music to sing it to, I'm happy to do so. Just goes to show why the archiving and format shifting projects are important.

Sincerely,

Mike S.

P.S. Also, thanks for the spontanious Greek, I had not noticed it in Peter the Wag at first glance. Thank Google there's a solution for that at least. :)

I found a Midi version of "A Norrible Tale of a Suicidal Family" which fits the meter of #35, and appears to me to be the full title of the tune Gilbert is referencing here:
http://mudcat.org/Detail.CFM?messages__Message_ID=2917027
I downloaded the Midi and can send it if anyone is interested and you have trouble getting it from that site.

The ascription is confusing. I believe it was written by E L Blanchard in the late 1800's, though I've also found variations of the lyric ascribed to Stuart Robson and Anonymous.

If you heard me sing, you'd be relieved to know that I don't want to try recording is in song. I was just interested to hear the tune.

How intriguing! Thank you for tracking that down and sharing that. :)

I'm curious enough that I might just have to try singing it some time...

Sorry, That section was claimed in February by another reader. But we do still have several sections unclaimed, check the magic window. If the section is put back into the pot I will note it in this thread. :D

As always let me know if anything needs tweaking or to be redone. I apparently had a fan I was picking up during the recording, I think I filtered it out but let me know.

Hi Phil,

Here's section 35: https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/babballads_35_gilbert_128kb.mp3 (4:10).
I didn't read the bit about the tune since I made my own (it's PD).
