Thanks, Stephan. I know I talk fast, and I always have. (I sang in punk bands for long enough that diction-at-speed is how I typically speak anyway.) I actually tried fairly hard to slow down to read these chapters.
Part of why I like the idea of LibriVox is because I'd like to learn how to read stories properly. I definitely appreciate the input, and after New Year's, I'll definitely jump back in and pick up some more.

Dear Chris,
you?re full of reading energy. THATS GOOOOD! I think you?re librivoxes most eager reader at the moment.
But please, in all your eagerness, don?t record a chapter BEFORE you claimed them with a post.
The rule would even go as far as to say, don?t record before the book-leader acknowledged your claim.
In this case, a quick post at the start of your recording session would have done. The chance was small, that someone claimed them at the same time while you were recording, but imagine someone would have - I would not be able to take your files, but would take those of him who claimed. Your work would have ?only? been a nice practise to you. Wouldn?t that be a pity?
Please claim a chapter before recording.
And wait for an answer in order to avoid managing mishaps. I guess the founders here have learned to obey this rule by hard and annoying errors.
But other than that, thanks for your energy. You?ll get us books done. Happy new year,
Cheers, Stephan

You are absolutely right. I had "claimed" the chapters but hadn't waited for a reply. Would you like me to do chapters 25 and 26?
chanse, 25 & 26 as requested
raouf, 27 is yours
I know, chris, that this claiming seems silly this way, as we are all not dumb, and can read ourselfs, but claiming before recording is simply a must for organisation of the whole thing.

No - really - I understand completely. I just get too excited sometimes. Especially on a holiday weekend I should have known to wait for confirmation.
A Princess of Mars - Chapter IV.

This is my first recording with a southern accent. Also, since the title is beyond the ID3v1 limit (30), I used ID3v2 this time.

Welcome Shartzog! Great reading, love the accent. Stephan knows I'm a sucker for a good accent so he sent me here to have a listen.

Stephan,
I recorded Chapter 20, but I had so much noise from my computer fans, not to mention I goofed up on editing it, that it is basically unusable. I have been very busy this week and have been unable to re-record it yet.
I will be out of town this weekend and will not be able to record it again until next week, and will gladly relinquish the chapter if this is unacceptable.
I truly want to participate; this has just been a busy month for me.

Biotron, how kind of you to keep me updated. Don?t stress yourself. This is a hobby - recreation.
See shartzog, they want your voice.

Hello Chanse,
nope this time i didn?t receive your chapters. They are not in my spam-filter by chance either. Sorry, but you?ll have to send chapter 25+26 again.

I don't know how relevant this is, but just as an FYI: it seems a movie version of this book has just gone into pre-production.
