Zach -- sorry I didn't get this message till now -- yes, I got your file and it's been uploaded to my server. Thanks!

Stuart -- Hey! Welcome to Librivox! I hope you enjoy yourself here. Section 9 is indeed now available -- I'll put you down for it. Since this is your first recording I need to know how to enter you in our catalog -- I need a name (and website if you have one) that you'd like displayed next to your recordings in our database. Thanks a lot and have a great time!

Since I'm in "git 'er done" mode where Dickens is concerned, I can't stand to see this book with only one chapter remaining. Please sign me up for section 18, if you don't mind, and we'll get this finished off.

Thanks,
Debbie

Just so you know, I've created the directory in the validator and am prepping this one for cataloging, in anticipation of proofing the final chapter. :D

Hi,
I am new to Librivox and my son has to read "Hard Times" for english class. He is a slow reader and we have found that using the audio books helps him finish and retain the information. What is the timeframe for the completion of the book so that we can download it for use on his I-pod?

Thanks so much.

Also, how does one become involved in recording a book? What is the best equipment, etc?

Rogn1 -

Hard Times should hopefully be available for download by tomorrow morning; the cataloging process takes about 24-36 hours.

For more info on recording, etc, I'll just direct you to our Newbie Recording Guide -- there's a lot of good information there:

And thanks for volunteering! :D
