Thank you for claiming that section.
However, before you get started, there are a few formalities:
First we ask that all new readers submit a one minute test to the Listeners Wanted Forum (not here): http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
This is so that one of our technical gurus can give you tips, if needed, on bringing your technical specifications up to Librivox standards - it is not to make sure you can read  Please don't record your section until you get the OK there.
While you are waiting, please be sure to read the Newbie Guide To Recording http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording and feel free to look around our forums (see the dropdown at the bottom of the page).
Lastly, you will need to be entered into the catalog as a reader. This only needs to be done once and I can do it for you. I just need to know how you wish to appear. Most of us use our real name, but it's OK to use a pseudonym or just your forum name. We can also link to a personal website or blog (but no commercial advertising).
In the meantime, I'll hold section 8 for you.

I've uploaded the test. I assume someone will let me know if adjustments to my recording setup need to be made.

I looked over the newby recording guide as well.

You can credit me as 'David Heitzman' . I don't have a personal website to put up at this point.

Thanks!

If you posted the link in the listeners wanted forum, someone will listen... There are a few admins who are very good at determining what, if any, tweaking is needed, but as everyone here is a volunteer, sometimes it can take a day or two. But they will get to it, never fear 8-)
The reason for waiting before recording is that if you invest a lot of time (and you will, for the first few, especially) in a recording and then they come back and say there is something you should do differently... Well, if it were me, I'd probably throw the computer out the window. At least this recording is less than a minute long  You can spend the time exploring and seeing what other projects appeal in the meantime.

Kevin
At the last moment, I decided not to read this section in my "talk like a pirate" voice.

Hello Lynne:
May I claim Chapter 14.
If the chapter has approximately 28 minute in length, should the ending be 5 second or 10 seconds. I know that if it were 30 minutes it is 10 seconds.
Jules.
