Number nine; a drama in nine acts (1885) by S. R. Wheeler
16 M characters, 4 F characters _ various servants, maids etc. Would be fun if someone could take this on as an item for this collection.
https://archive.org/details/numberninedramai00dext
There's another play, perhaps shorter: https://archive.org/details/ninthstatue00dibd
I like both of these plays upon quick reading and will offer them, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE of them being ready in time. They both have lottsa characters to find readers for and that just doesn't happen very fast. And both of them will be too long for this collection anyway. I toyed with the idea of just doing Act 9 of Number 9 but that would be very very confusing. Maybe I can just say in the summary that they are part of our 9th year celebration.

Why do interesting things to do like this keep popping up in my path?

Thanks, Todd

Chapter 9 of Agent Nine and the Jewel Mystery

Howsabout to go along with the above section I read Chapter 14 of Agent Nine Solves His First Case by Graham M. Dean. The chapter ends with the first swearing in of Agent Nine as a protector of the forces of justice halfway through the book, which comes before the Jewel Mystery book.

Or is that too much Agent 9?

Thanks, Todd

You are quite right, of course, Todd. Far too long - I meant to look and didn't get around to it . And also far too many men  to be done in a sensible length of time. But I shall be delighted if you take one or both on to extend the celebrations!

Oh, I don't think two agent nines is overdoing it! I'll pop you in the MW.

I've just rediscovered another story that I stashed away a couple of years ago, so I have added that too for myself.

If songs are allowable for this collection, I'd like to sing "The Ninety and Nine" by Elizabeth C. Clephane and Ira D. Sankey.

I would be using the music from this source, which lists the song as public domain.

http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/The_Ninety_and_Nine/

Also, may I read the story behind the hymn from Sankey's "My Life and the Story of the Gospel Hymns and of Sacred Songs and Solos," linked here?

https://archive.org/details/mylifeandstoryg00sankgoog (p. 304-314)

Hopefully I'll be able to sneak a few more in as well. :)
