Unless it's been claimed, I'll record:
American Beauty Personified as the Nine Muses (1870) by Charles Astor Bristed (1820-1874)
https://archive.org/details/americanbeautype00bris

I like this as it relates to my previous submission, Awake Ye Muses Nine.

I'd like to read The Ninety-nine Guardsmen by Bret Harte (1836 - 1902) (from your list).

I can't get any of those handle link books to load.

Thank you, Michele and Claudia. I have no idea why the Hathi Trust books won't load for you :(. I occasionally find the site a little slow, but it always works for me in the end. I begin to wonder if it is something to do with geographical location...

Maybe I'm just not patient enough? I tend to give up after a few minutes of waiting for a page to load. After all, it should be a matter of seconds, not minutes. :)

ETA: It was my browser, not the site.

So, now that I can load those pages after all, could you please put me down for: Nine Graves in Edinbro by Irwin Russell? :)

Certainly, Claudia. I am glad you have found a way to see the Hathi Trust site - it is full of wonderful things.

Hello Ruth!
At last I fond something with 9. Would you please reserve me a place for the poem 1909 by Sasha Chorny (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sasha_Chorny)?

It is in Russian.

And also
Лис Микита. Пісня дев'ята (Lys Mykyta. Pisnya Dev'yata) by Ivan Franko

in Ukrainian.
~Anastasiia
Multilingual Monthly Poem like Weekly Poetry but for all languages🗺
Сборник рассказов Л. Андреева

This link is for Section 23.

https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/9anni_ninemenintime_loomis_mh_128kb.mp3

Hopefully, it's OK. I tried uploading earlier through Firefox, and it seemed to work. However, when I tried to copy the shortcut, the computer froze. So I converted back to Internet Explorer and re-uploaded. This time everything seemed to go all right.

Now it's time to go to bed...past time, in fact! :)

Ruth, can you also assign the remaining poems on your recommended list ('Nine' and "Ninety-Nine in the Shade') to me? :)

I'd like to record this short narrative for the collection: "Preservation of Nine Seamen" It's on P. 276 at http://www.gutenberg.org/files/25982/25982-h/25982-h.htm

The book title is a great one: "Thrilling Narratives of Mutiny, Murder and Piracy A weird series of tales of shipwreck and disaster, from the earliest part of the century to the present time, with accounts of providential escapes and heart-rending fatalities"

Darvinia has already claimed that one, I'm afraid, Mary.
