[COMPLETE] H.C.A: Fairytales and Short stories vol 5 - rap
Hi Kristin,
You can assign me one piece at a time. I will get to it this week. When I finish with the first one, if others are still available, I will do them one at a time.
Best wishes,
Lori

Welcome to LibriVox! Thanks, I will sign you up to sections 1 and 3, but please don't start to record them until you have completedNourhanElsayed wrote:I want to claim section #1 (The Pen and the Inkstand) and section #3 (Beauty of Form and Beauty of Mind) please.
I'd like to appear as NourhanElsayed in the LibriVox catalogue
your 1 - minute test(see below) and got the ok from an admin. What Cataloge name would you like to have?
At the Newbie Guide to Recording: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording,you can see how to set up your computer to record.
Please make sure you complete the "1 Minute Test" for review before you start actively recording any chapters for projects. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc. You will find the information for the 1-Minute Test Recording here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. The instructions also tell you how to upload your test and then post in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum so someone can give you feedback on it.
If you'd like to introduce yourself to the community, you can do se here: http://forum.librivox.org/viewforum.php?f=17
An overview of how Librivox works can be found here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/How_LibriVox_Works
There are numerous ways to volunteer here. An important one is proof-listening, which consists of checking someone's recording for errors. If you'd like to give that a try, you can find lots of information here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Guide_for_Proof-listeners
One of our volunteers has created a number of videos that you might find helpful to learn more about the workings of Librivox. You can find a listing of those here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/User:Philchenevert
Also to point out to professional (or aspiring) Voice Over artists, all our recordings are put back into the public domain which means sometimes they are sold on ebay, etc. Have a look at this page which describes our Public Domain policy: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Copyright_and_Public_Domain
We hope you have fun and please, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions
All yours:)jesster wrote:I'll read Section 26.

So this is your Reader Page in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/reader/9289NourhanElsayed wrote:Hi Kristin,

You can also access it, through your name-link in any Magic Window.
It lists all projects you've been involved in, and if you click the link "Reader section details" below your name there, it will show your sections in open projects and their status - assigned, ready for PL, etc - according to what's in the Magic Window. So, it helps keep track of things!
Have fun recording!

I was assigned three sections, but since I am a new reader and I want to improve my reading as I go, I will upload them one by one, and wait until I get feedback for each before I submit another. Here is the link for Section #1 (The Pen and the Inkstand): https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/andersenfairytalesvol5_01_andersen_128kb.mp3

Great! Well done on your first Librivox Recording!
I've listened to your section. It is very well read!
Two edits needed: One, about the chapter number, we use the section numbers in the Magic Window, so for this one it would be "Chapter 1 of [...]"
and two, the ending "End of Hans Christian Andersen: [...]" is only needed in the end of the book, that is, only in the last section of a project. So you can delete that one and end with the "Recording by [...]" + 5 seconds of silence
In the technical aspects, the volume is a bit low, now at ~84dB, as measured with the Checker, (target volume range is 87-91, with 89dB being ideal) and I think the recording would benefit from some additional noise removal. MaryAnn explains amplification and noise removal very well in your test thread viewtopic.php?f=21&t=52272
So, if you choose, you can address the technical issues with your test recording (it will help with your future recordings ),
and apply the suggested settings (amplification or levelling, and noise-removal) and the edits in this recording and reupload. Please ask if you need any help
ETA: Oh! and remember to include file duration - for cross-checking purposes - whenever you post a file link For this one, it's 05:32

Thank you for the revision! The file is PL OK now
For the next one check if you can increase the input volume so that you record closer to the target volume
Have fun!

Section 11 has been uploaded
Hi! Thank you for your recording! I listened to it. It's quite nicely read! One thing that needs to be edited out is the 'end of book' outro you added in the end. That is only added in the end of a book, in the last section of a project. So it's not needed here. It's around 11:51 in the recording, so you can delete that, and add the 5 seconds of silence after the "recording by" part, and re-upload when ready!Rapunzelina wrote:faith9p wrote:Chapter 12 - The Portuguese Duck

Thanks!
