Hello, defscan! Welcome to Librivox!
Before you make your first recording, we suggest you to record a one-minute-test. This will enable us to give you quick feedback, to make sure everything is correct. After you record one-minute-test, post it in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum. And then you'll get feedback from our experienced Librivox volunteers. They'll tell you if everything is working correct. Good luck! :D

PS When you get your test OKed, you can record the tale and post it here. :)

Diego,
PL for L'Héritage De Mon Oncle Christian

Very well read!
It is much too loud (94 dB) we need 89 dB. Please deamplify by 5 dB.
There is a very loud background noise, sounds like the computer fan. Please try what the noise cleaning or Audacity can do with it.

About the capitalisation: When I remember correctly it should be L'Héritage de mon oncle Christian, right?

Leni,
I-Juca-Pirama PL OK :D

Thank you, Diego.

The volume is perfect and the noise is much better now.
Only one more thing: The sample rate needs to be 44100 Hz. It's my mistake that I didn't check that yesterday, sorry. Therefore I fixed it.
Before you record next time, change the setting in Audacity under Edit/Preferences/Quality

And a tip: When you do noise cleaning, make the attac/decay time 0,0 (that's the very last field in the noise removal window). With anything else there will be always some noise left under your voice.

L'héritage de mon oncle Christian PL OK :D

While we are waiting for the two last Chinese sections to be PLed, ShiNeko and I descided to add 2 more open section. We will catalog this collection when we have 20 PL OK sections, either the two Chinese sections PLed or two newly recorded sections.

Hi,

My name is Eva : viewtopic.php?f=17&t=56689

I have recently passed the 1-minute test : viewtopic.php?f=21&t=56705

Now I am choosing stories to read in Russian and would like to consult you about some candidates,
please :

I have a collection of short stories by Henry Kuttner called "The Proud Robot" in Russian that includes his great science fiction works like "The Ego Machine", and the ones I want to read from the Hogben Series/ Chronicles : "Exit the Professor" and "Pile of Trouble."

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Kuttner#Short_stories

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hogben_series

http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/search/?query=henry+kuttner

Please advice whether these works are in the public domain (http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Copyright_and_Public_Domain).

Thanks a lot!
Eva
