Multilingual Short Works Collection 011 - Poetry & Prose

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/multilingual-short-works-collection-011-by-various/

This collection is for short works, in any language except (modern) English. This can include poetry but also prose, fiction as well as non-fiction.
Feel free to choose any work which is in the public domain. If you're unsure what we mean by 'public domain', please read this explanation. Try to stick to works that run less than 60 minutes.
Please follow the instructions in this post carefully. :) There is no need to "sign-up" before recording; please remember that you should choose a work that is Public Domain in your country AND that was published before 1923; if you are unsure about anything, please post here and ask before recording!

Everyone can contribute as many recordings as he/she wants.
It's OK to submit readings in English (English being a language, I figure), but as there are plenty of other places to put those, let's limit them to special cases such as interesting regional dialects or accents.

If you are interested to see what has been done previously, check the previous Multilingual Collections in our catalog (but we welcome multiple versions of the same work).

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello Babylon5,

I had a look at your source. Unfortunately we can't link directly to the text, because of the way this site is made. I suggest we use this source for the catalog: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/11597
For various reasons it's always best to use gutenberg.og if the text is available there.

We move to Readers Wanted.

Françoise san, is this OK?
We need to change the title from 'FOU ?' to 'FOU?', following the gutenberg.

Masa

Yes, it's okay for me for the source.
However, concerning the title, there is a typographic rule in France whic is different from the English : In French, when there is a double sign of punctuation (; / : / ? / !), the rule is to separate the sign from the word before by one space.
So.... Gutenberg is wrong. Personnally I don't mind, but, for a French reader, that would be a mistake, if you change the title Fou ? into : Fou?.
Sorry I'm no trying to turn you "fou".

Hello everybody,

I need to add some explanations about the following rule.
- all recordings for this project that have not been PL-ed 4 weeks after the volume is complete will not be included in the volume.
- the readers for these sections will receive a PM about this, and we would like to encourage them to re-submit their recording to the next open volume of this collection (which can be found here: xxxx). This will allow longer time for the recordings to find a PL-er.
I've seen several conflicts as a BC. This conflict occurs when someone says 'some recording is not PL OK'.
It's very difficult to be nice when you say 'PL NG'. So I introduced this rule.
With this rule you don't dare to say 'some recording is not understandable'.
At the same time the reader can extend PL time by posting it on the following project.
With this rule readers don't need to worry about delaying the project.

Please feel free to ask questions.

Cheers,
Masa
