This week's poem can be found here.

Set your recording software to:
Channels: 1 (Mono)
Bit Rate: 128 kbps
Sample Rate: 44100 kHz

Have questions on "how"?
Check LV's Recording Notes thread before recording. If this is your first recording, you'll also find this Newbie Guide to Recording useful.

Begin your reading with the abbreviated LibriVox disclaimer:

No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!
The Rainy Day by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, read for LibriVox.org by [your name].
[Add, if you wish, date, your location, and/or your personal url.]
Then read the poem:

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

At the end of your reading, leave a space and then say:
End of poem. This recording is in the public domain.

Please leave 5 seconds of silence at the end of your recording.

That song "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall (but too much is falling in mine)" so swingingly sung by Ella Fitzgerald and the Ink Spots (?) must have taken its title from this poem . . .

LOL oh that's great, in four years time we could have a poem readers gathering. I have not much idea of what I'm doing, just trying to find a good mix for my voice.

Great reading, only one minor thing, you added my before sad in "Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;". Let me know if you want to correct this :)

Oh boy I replayed that over several times against the text and I still missed it sheesh. The problem being ' still,my and sad' I ran the words together especially my sad and I don't know the software well enough to correct it. Will it be ok to leave it as it is? I must be more careful and pay attention to what I'm doing :wink: and here was I thinking I was so darn perfect :lol:

Thankx Diana
