Hi Ruth, Gibson's list if "sevens" is just amazing! Enjoyed the listen. I wonder if you already have a read in mind for the 9th anniversary collection . . . I keep thinking I should start looking.RuthieG wrote:I recorded this for the 7th Anniversary Collection, but I wasn't well at the time, and wasn't able to complete it in time. Seems a pity to waste it, even if it isn't one of my best.

Hi Cartwright33, Welcome to Librivox! We're pleased to see your first recording here at the Nonfiction Collection, and it looks like a great choice! What happens next is that I, being the book coordinator (BC), will enter your contribution in the Magic Window (MW), and then our dedicated proof listener(DPL), Hugh, will proof listen (PL) it. I'll also take an informal listen.
One thing, could you please let me know as soon as possible what name you want to be listed under in the catalog? You can use your forum name (Cartwright33), your real name, or a pseudonym of your choosing.
Thanks,
P.S. One small thing for future reference on the file name, please run the title of the work together without spaces--thanks:
•File Name: (all lower case. Please omit a, the, etc from title): snf031_titleofwork_authorlastname_yourinitials_128kb.mp3

Very, very nice narration, sounds like you've done this before.
Also a very interesting story.
PL is okay.

Thanks, Hugh and Sue. I would rather use my forum name (Cartwright33) for the listing. Sorry about the underscore in the title. It won't happen again! Glad you both liked it.

Cartwright33, your forum name is fine for the catalog. No big deal about the file name--we'll change it on this end. And, really, your first LibriVox recording was great!Cartwright33 wrote:Thanks, Hugh and Sue. I would rather use my forum name (Cartwright33) for the listing. Sorry about the underscore in the title. Hello -
Looking through the suggestions page I found this one:
I've only contributed a short snippet to the Accents and Dialogues collection before - this would be my first full-length piece.
Cheers,
K

Could I do this if it's still available?Cat Lover? Théophile Gautier's My Private Menagerie is perfect choice! He begins "I have often been caricatured in Turkish dress, seated on cushions and surrounded by cats ..."

Hi everyone. I'm new here. My 1-minute test is still up for evaluation, but I thought I'd start asking questions so I can start my first Librivox project.
I'm interested in contributing to this Short Nonfiction Collection and have the following questions. Is there a deadline? Is it all right if I choose an article from a pre-1923 issue of Harper's Magazine? If this is all right, should I upload a PDF copy of the article to archive.org? I'm using a copy that I downloaded from the Harper's Magazine website, but they require a subscription, so it's not a good idea to link directly to their website.
I'd appreciate your guidance, especially since I'm new.

Just passing through. As I noticed your question, I just thought I'd mention that the Hathi Trust website has most of the public domain issues of Harper's. See http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/webbin/serial?id=harpers for details.
