Hi Tricia

I'd like to read Section 12 - "Old English Poetry" please.

This will be my first recording having done my sound test, so I've chosen something fairly short and with a mix of prose and verse. If this goes ok I'll volunteer for several of the shorter poems.

If you want to hear my sound test it's here:

Thanks, Chris.

Chris Cartwright.

No need for me to hear your test. :)

Do you want to be listed in the catalog as Chris Cartwright?

Great! You're in.

Here's your catalog page: https://catalog.librivox.org/people_public.php?peopleid=8466

I use mine to keep track of what sections I've claimed and still need to record. You can bookmark it, or shift-click on your name in the Magic Window to open the page in a new tab/window.

Hi. This is my first time volunteering for reading here in librivox.
I have already read the guidelines for readers but I have yet to submit
a test recording because I wanted to volunteer to read chapters
9, 21, and 40 before they get assigned.:p I hope you would still
allow me the pleasure. Thank you very much.
Peace and all good. :)

9, 21, and 40 are yours. :)

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or their forum name, some their real name) and a personal web site or blog, if you have one. CLICK HERE for an example of what I'm talking about. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Thank you :)

Please use "Sel Bravo" for crediting since that is my real name anyway. :D

Peace and all good :)

Bob,
I have listened to just a portion of this, it sounds excellent!
There are, however, two issues to correct before I complete this.

1). The volume comes in at 94.5dB which is too far above the LibriVox target of 89 dB. I think you can use Audacity to knock this down, using a negative value in the Amplify effect. Just watch for distortion.

2). Apparently the entire file did not upload as it cuts off abruptly at 10:47, so there is more than 6 minutes missing. I have no explanation for this.

Traveling today, but I'll check back when I can.
