COMPLETE: Edison, His Life & Inventions by Dyer - ge
Zoinks! I've been a little behind on things, and nearly let this slip. I'll get some notes out tonight if I can.

To dream anything that you want to dream. That's the beauty of the human mind.
To do anything that you want to do. That's the strength of the human will.
To trust yourself to test your limit. That is the courage to succeed.

Sorry...never got notes out after that last post. I'm scrambling to play catch-up on several things, this included. I'm making some headway, and hope that this coming week will be more productive.

If not now, when? Wake up and live!
I don't mind editing ch 15. I noticed a bit of background noise I can reduce too. Also we don't really need 5 seconds of silence at the beginning of the file. If it didn't need editing, I wouldn't bother deleting it. We have to have the silence at the end because some player cut off the endings. So far we have not noticed that any players do that with the beginning.

Sorry for the absence. Just got back from a week-long vacation, and sadly things aren't much more organized now than before I left. I'll try to get some notes out soon to those who still have sections to submit, but if you're one of those, feel free to drop me a PM if you don't hear from me first. Let's get this thing wrapped up!

I would be willing to take up the shorter orphan if it indeed gets orphaned.

Yes, indeed, although I don't know about PM-ing myself. Talking to myself out loud is bad enough... I hope to put in some recording time this week, and if all goes well, I should have my bit wrapped up before the month ends.Starlite wrote:I believe YOU are one of these.

I think I just found this, it was named edison_lifeinventions_AppendixII_dyer_martin.mp3 2.mp3Jazbees wrote:Thanks for your contribution, Anna-Maria. If you would, could you please tell us the filename that you received after uploading, and the full length of the recording? This info is needed to add details to the magic box for the section. Thanks!
I'm renaming it edison_lifeinventions_32_dyer_martin.mp3 and I've marked up the admin (hope that's ok, Jazbees!).
I found this whilst doing a little housekeeping - I'm easing myself back into LV project work after a prolonged absence.
This project has made great progress!
Esther, if you like I can take this back as MC now. If you'd prefer to keep it, equally fine, just let me know.

This is so close to done and won't take much on your part so I will let you have it back. It's good to see you round here more. There have been changes in my life too (Some good and some not so good) So will be glad to give it back to you.

OK then! Thanks for taking it on when I couldn't.Starlite wrote:This is so close to done and won't take much on your part so I will let you have it back. It's good to see you round here more. I've uploaded Chapter 27 for proofing:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ge/edison_lifeinventions_27_dyer_martin.mp3
Runtime: 52:10
I made the decision not to read through the summary chart at the end of the chapter. First of all, it would have made an already long reading intolerably long, but mostly all the statistics had already been given and explained in the chapter itself.
