Oooouh, you are getting so close Tony. I got into Schumann this morning, but I think there is still a bit left in that file. I'll get 36 and 37 done on the commute tonight and be pretty close to caught up with you by the time I get into work tomorrow.

:D 39. We're done! Now, I get to thank you again for all your excellent advice, MaryAnn, especially putting the music examples in at the point of the recording where they are mentioned instead of in their own separate recordings. For everything! Thanks again! --Tony

:hmm: I'm glad he didn't call it a "complete" history. I personally found it puzzling when I, for some reason, found myself thinking of Vivaldi and suddenly thought, "He didn't mention one of my long appreciated composers, especially his "4 seasons." Now, was Vivaldi not admired at the end of the 19th century? Nonetheless, I found the reading interesting, educational, and enjoyable. Also interesting in another way, at times when I read, from a 21st century view, passages where he mildly chides a composer for being more feminine in his style, without the strong, serious, manly approach to themes, like Beethoven for example.

Final section is PL OK. I'll start the cataloging process. He ran through a lot of men that I had never heard of . . . and I thought I was pretty conversant on the major players in music.

Tony,
Thanks for running all your files through MP3Gain before you uploaded them. That saves me a step in cataloging.
