Thank you, Alex, for your friendly, gentle reading. I have taken the liberty of just snipping out a tiny hesitation at "Read by.." and re-uploaded. PL OK.

Don't forget to post the duration of the file (mm:ss) as this helps us ensure that no files have been truncated in the cataloguing process. I have made a note of it this time, so no need to tell me now :).

Thank you, Jeana.

A few little technical things to bear in mind for future recordings:
  1. Your recording is in stereo and needs, for LibriVox, to be in mono. This page in the Wiki should help you find the right setting in GarageBand: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/GarageBand
  2. The volume is just a little on the high side. Do you see that it is touching the top and bottom of the window in places? If it goes too high, this can cause distortion of the voice, so try reducing the microphone volume just a little in your recording software or in your computer's sound controls.

To check your own volume you can use our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker. Make sure you download the experimental version - you will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB, and your current test measures 92.7 dB.
  3. Audio files of 30 minutes or less need 5 seconds of silence at the end.
  4. File names should be all lower case.
I have made these corrections for you and re-uploaded, so there is no need for you to do anything else on this recording.

Also, how would you like to be credited in the catalogue? This can be your real name, forum name or a pseudonym. Usually it's best to use whichever name you used in the recording for "Read by..." as this is how listeners will search for you. We can also link to a personal web page if you wish. :)

Here is your personal catalogue page: https://catalog.librivox.org/people_public.php?peopleid=8254 It is useful to keep track of your achievements, and the sections you have claimed. You can access it by right-clicking your name in the Magic Window and opening in a new tab. Many people also bookmark/favorite the page in their browser.

Alrighty, thank you for the list, I'll start fixing them! Sorry about the capitalization, but I saw this: "Track Title: The Star - Read by YOUR INITIALS (eg. The Star - Read by KLH)" and got confused haha, sorry and I'll be sure not to let that happen again! I would like to be creditted as Jeana Wei please~

Hello and welcome, Julaine :)

Nice first recording  .

Just a couple of little technical things to fix for future recordings:

Your file is stereo and needs for our purposes to be mono. To change this setting in Audacity, click Edit | Preferences | Devices and under Recording select 1(Mono) Channel.

Be careful not to touch the mic or mic cable while you are recording - mics are very sensitive, and pick up every little noise.

Oh, and make sure that the file name is always in lower case.

No need to do anything with this recording - I have fixed and re-uploaded.

Also, how would you like to be credited in the catalogue? This can be your real name, forum name or a pseudonym. Usually it's best to use whichever name you used in the recording for "Read by..." as this is how listeners will search for you. We can also link to a personal web page if you wish. :)

Thank you, PV :). PL OK.

Haven't seen you for ages! Seeing your name takes me back to THAT LibriVox song...

You have given me an idea - our 8th birthday is coming up...

Ruth & Peppersnoodles93,

Reminds me of the stars my teacher in elementary school used to put on our papers (this was before Smilies). :)
