COMPLETE: Short Nonfiction Collection Vol. 29 -jo
Hi,
Because we just had one of these, and because today is Easter (in the West, anyway) - here is The Papal Election, Chapter 5 of F. A. Forbes' Pope Pius the Tenth (http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35953) for your consideration.
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/jo/snf029_papalelection_forbes_dp.mp3
It runs 21:05.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your timely contribution to volume 29. I was going to say that our dedicated proof listener, Hugh, would be listening shortly, but it looks like you are already PL OK!DPranitis wrote:Hi,

By the way, did you see the cover for volume 28 of the collection? http://librivox.org/short-nonfiction-collection-vol-028-by-various/ I was looking for a pictorial theme that was lively, had general interest, and hopefully highlighted a contribution from one of our newer Librivox readers, and your baseball reading fit the bill. The picture is from the New York Public Library digital collection, which has lots of interesting baseball related visual material. http://digitalgallery.nypl.org/nypldigital/dgkeysearchresult.cfm?keyword=baseball+
Hi. I don't know how big of a deal this is, and I'm sorry, But I placed the word "The" at the beggining of my title, both in the Download file name, AND when I read the title in my audio file. Looking back, there is no "The". If this makes my file unusable, I understand. This is a small collection of 3 short letters by Abraham Lincoln. Also, there was another short letter in the actual collection, but it was not officially transcribed in the public domain file, and was a .jpg of Lincoln's actual handwriting. I did not want to attempt to decipher it and make errors.

Hi Hiro861, Greetings to the non-fiction collection! Your contribution of Lincoln letters is most welcome. Don't worry about the "the!" If the file name needs to be changed, we can do it on this end, and on your recording it's no big deal. Our dedicated proof listener, Hugh, will listen to your recording shortly, and he can help you along if need be (since I see you are fairly new to Librivox). Best wishes, Sue

Okay, umm...
I know this is unprecedented and everything, but it seems these collections are filling up awfully fast lately... As I have contributed to every single one ever since I arrived here, could you please reserve one spot for me here? I'll get to record something nice in the weekend - either science or Japan themed, not sure yet.
If this is not possible, can I vote for extending this (and all following) collections to 20 pieces, please

Hi PPerez, welcome back! Continuing with the development of Whitehead's ideas on education is an excellent idea, and should interest philosophy students too! I've entered your selection in our Magic Window. For this collection, we have a dedicated proof listener, Hugh, and he will be listening to your selection shortly.
Meanwhile, could you please do us one favor, and give us the reference to the internet site from which you are reading? We need this information for cataloging. I looked at archive.org, and I'm guessing this is the source you used--http://archive.org/details/organisationofth00whit--but we need to be sure! Thanks,

Hugh, Just to say thank you for all the PLing you've been doing! also, to say if you want to go ahead and PL PPerez' contribution from the source I mentioned in my note to him, it's ok, as archive.org was his source for his last Whitehead contribution.
Hi Sue and Hugh,
I'm sorry I forgot to give the source file! As you had already posted, it is:
http://archive.org/details/organisationofth00whit
You will find a typo I could not help correcting, since it conveyed the exact opposite meaning of what was meant: "casual" is written instead of "causal". The word "causal" appears on the later essay compilation by the same author "The Aims of Education and Other Essays", unfortunately not yet in public domain.
Regards,
PP
