Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874 - 1942) .
Matthew and Marilla make plans to adopt a boy to help with farm chores but because of a mistake, Matthew finds a girl waiting at the train station to come home with him. Anne Shirley is a bold, tempered, imaginative and talkative young girl, yet the reader still manages to fall in love with her blunt personality. Marilla has her doubts, but Matthew convinces her to keep Anne. This book will let you watch characters grow and blossom like butterflies and magical changes take place. (Summary by Sarah Parshall)
This project is complete and can be found in our catalog at http://librivox.org/anne-of-green-gables-by-lucy-maud-montgomery-5/

  • Target completion date: 2014-Jan-31
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/45
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello SarahParshall, I noticed you have not recorded any single sections or chapters yet, it is highly recommended that you do that before attempting a solo. But if you do this I would love to DPL for you :D

Hi Sarah. I also recommend that you record some sections before thinking about taking on a solo. Here is the link to Doing Your First Solo: some tips just in case you like videos. We know you want to start recording immediately but being patient is part of recording for LibriVox and a very important part of doing a solo.

Phil -
Thank you! I love your videos, by the way, and I watched pretty much all of them before I even attempted doing a solo, and you are so funny! You made things easy to understand. :) Thanks again for your recommendations!

Sarah I will MC this for you and set up the Magic Window later today. In the meantime, please put a tilde ~ in front of your title so that people will know you need a DPL.

The MW is up. I will find your username and password and PM them to you this evening.
OK, that is sent. I've put the first chapter in as an example. You can modify the format but keep the 01, 02, etc in front of the chapter name. Have fun.

Just a not on the side, not to criticize or anything, but Avonlea is usually pronounced 'Avonlee'

Hahaha, those (17:26) are the wind chimes outside.
Anyways, I fixed all of the changes. :)

(I spoke with several people who said that the way I was pronouncing it was correct. Perhaps it could be pronounced either way?)
