Thanks for the comments. I hope I'll be doing a lot more for LibriVox that you can proof for me.

I'll hang out and wait for the "final" word on Puddle-Bee.

It's James' project, so whatever he says about pronunciation goes. However, I would probably respond in the same way as him. Just as vague and noncommittal :) It really doesn't matter.

I would like to proof this book! I'm just listening to the first doolittle-book and cannot get enough of it. So if it's okay, I'll start proofing.

Check the whole thread for the chapters I've proofed so that you don't duplicate what I've done (I've actually proofed up through section 20 or 21, even though I haven't posted on all of them), but as far as I'm concerned and as long as James (metal.lunchbox) is OK with it, you're more than welcome to help proof. The more proofers, the faster the book will get finished and into the catalog for all to enjoy! :D

I agree that two proofer-listeners means we'll only get done a little quicker, so you're more than welcome to join in. just be sure to coordinate with the other proof-listener

If you have the time, you can also put a note in the Notes column for each section that's been proofed that it's done. Or, if either Paul or Buechermaus would like to take on that responsibility I can get you access to edit privileges as long as you promise to just add in proof listening notes :) That way things won't get confusing.

Be glad to...but I don't think I have an ID that will let me update the Magic Window yet.

PROOFING:

Section 18: Part 2 Ch. 3 Jip and the Secret
Loud, some DC offset throughout. Slight hum which went away (along with the offset) when normalized to -3.0 db.
At 0:22, 4 seconds silence between chapter title and beginning of chapter.
Less than 1 second of silence at end.

Section 19: Part 2 Ch. 4 Bob
Some DC offset throughout. Slight hum which went away (along with the offset) when normalized to -3.0 db.
At 2:23, 2+ second pause. Would flow better if trimmed to about 1 second.
Only 3 seconds of silence at end. With such a short chapter, this may or may not be a problem.

Section 20: Part 2 Ch. 5 Mendoza
 OK to catalog!

Section 21: Part 2 Ch. 6 The Judge's Dog
 OK to catalog!

Now that kri has given me access (thanks, kri...I'll not abuse it) to the Magic Window, just let me know which sections you want to proof (so we won't duplicate efforts) and I'll update the Window.

Hi Paul,
as far as I can see you proffed up to 23. I will start with section 24 up to 34 then, if that is okay.

James,

I would like to redo this chapter, please. I now have a better recording setup and should be able to send a better sounding one. :D

thanks!

Well we've still got few chapters pending so it looks like there will be time for a re-recording. If you want to do a better recording of your chapter thats just fine. Post the new one here and I'll replace the link in the magic window with the updated version.
