Hello, I could proof-listen these files, without committing as DPL at this point.
So I'll download the available files, hoping that's OK :)

Hello, just a couple of PL notes if you'd like to check them, Alia.

section 01: ~16:36 stumble/repeat "that there has been nothing"

section 04: ~27:59 extra phrase "The sin, lessened --on the other hand-- on the one hand,"

sections 2,4,5 are OK :)

Note also that the first two sections have a different filename.

Yes, yes, yes!! I meant 3

Section 1: spot-checked OK
Section 4: spot-checked OK (check file duration, I'm getting it at 33:57 - if so, to be updated in the magic window)

Hi Alia,

I PLed sections 6 & 7. The content of both is fine, but you may wish to check the volume of section 6. I'm getting 93dB with the MP3Gain program, when I think we should be aiming for 89.

Best,
Rob

PL notes on Part III-Chapter 9 - section 9
----------------------------------------------

No silence at beginning of recording.

There is intermittent background noise throughout the first 4 1/2 minutes of the recording.
I have timed the most intrusive ones - but would respectfully suggest that the beginning section be completely redone

Background noises heard:

0:22-025 , 0:54, 1:59, 2:00, 3: 43, 4:13, 4:25, 4:33

Hello everyone!

I'm just popping in to say that I'm very excited for this project, and I wish you all the best of luck on it! I pop in from time to time to see how you all are doing, and I'm very happy for the progress you've made since I last poked my head in a couple of months ago.

That's all, really, I guess--just sort of a "thank you so much" and "best of luck"!

Cheers,

Kelseigh

If a DPL is still needed for this project, I am available.

Thanks.

Yes, we could still use a DPL. Chapters are not coming too fast but still have some to PL. Thanks. :)

Should have MW access now

Don't see any fresh files to listen to.

What do you guys want to do about section 09?

I gave it a listen, and yes there is some background noise (almost like a TV on in the background or someone screaming). However, very difficult for me to say it was completely distracting. Didn't bother me that much.

There may be a 1/2 second of silence at the beginning, but I can't really tell.

Up to you guys.

I'm easy going.

Thanks.,

Let's wait for Alia to pop back in and see what she wants to do. It might be a while before she does.

Yes, your encouragements would help a girl gather her mind long enough to get this job done. A lot.
If it's of any help, I would like to add my enthusiasm and support as well, miss. :)

Not understanding much about this sort of thing myself, someone like me can only marvel at the time and dedication such an undertaking involves. Of course, even if you don't fully understand something, that doesn't mean you can't be excited about the prospect of eventually seeing it come to fruition! :D

(I do appreciate that it may take quite some time and that anything you choose to do is done schedule permitting, so to speak.) ;)

Perhaps it's just my own fancy, but I think that Prince Myshkin is one of the all-time great-hearted characters of literature. How wonderful it is that you've deemed Dostoyevsky's story worthy enough to lend your own voice to it so that Prince Myshkin might live again for listeners in the 21st century.

Looks like there's some new sections ready for PL'ing (8-14) and 15, though didn't see any thread posts about em. Am I correct? If so, will get to work on them ASAP.

Thanks.
