If you edit carefully, it should be useable - but I was told it's best just to keep going (go back to the beginning of the sentence and repeat it) as it is easier just to cut out the 'blooper' when you edit. Also when our DPL listens, she will pick up any bad edits and tell you (e.g. "at 2:43") so you can go back and check/cut repeats etc.

Once you've done it a couple of times, it gets a lot easier, so hang in there

If you do stop (and assuming you're using Audacity), you can force it to start up again on the same track by holding down the shift key as you hit record.
