This project is complete. All associated files can be found on the catalog page: http://librivox.org/my-book-of-favourite-fairy-tales-by-edric-vredenberg/

My Book Of Favourite Fairy Tales by Edric Vredenberg (1860 - ?) .
This is a collection on well-known, favorite fairy stories, most of which we all grew up with. They were edited and retold in this volume. (Summary by Lynne Thompson)
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you'd like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen.
Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  4. Where do I find the text?
Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/15145
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)!
If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Add the following tags to your .mp3 file (how you do this depends on which software you use – if you are unsure about ID3 tags, send me a message). Please mind upper and lower case!

    Title: ## - [Section title]
    Artist: Edric Vredenberg
Album: My Book Of Favourite Fairy Tales

Please ignore tags for Genre and Track Number - these will be filled in automatically at the cataloguing stage.

Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.

(If you have trouble reading the image above, please message an admin)
    • You'll need to select the MC, which for this project is: ks - gypsygirl
    • When your upload is complete, you will receive a link - please post it in this thread.
    • If this doesn't work, or you have questions, please check our How To Send Your Recording wiki page.

Thank you Karen and Abigail.

This will be my first as BC, but I am confident after quite a number of contributions and 1 1/2 solos... hope the confidence isn't misplaced.

BCing projects is quite fun, Lynne. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it very soon. It helps to check the project daily, as there is often a flurry of activity, and then quiet for a bit. I've a feeling this one will go fast. :)

A number of the sections are relatively short, and none are especially long, so that should attract people, too.

OK, MW is all set up. And Abigail, I've added you as DPL.

Lynne, as this is your first time BCing a collab, I wanted to make sure you'd seen this page: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/BC%27s:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window

If you've only seen the solo BC version of that page, you might want to skim through it. There are a few extra points that aren't in the solo one.

By the way, I've shortened the sample filename from mybookoffavouritefairytales_##_vredenberg.mp3 to just favouritefairytales_##_vredenberg.mp3. By default, the template uses the entire book title, which sometimes ends up being unwieldy for a filename.

Thank you, Karen.

I have filled it in with chapter names and word counts.
I have also uploaded chapter 1, which is kind of an introduction, but is listed in the chapters; so I thought listing separately might be confusing to readers counting off the chapters.

Lynne,

If it won't be too confusing for some else to PL it for me, I'd very much like to read 14 - Beauty and the Beast. May I? :)

Sure... will I have to post it in 'Listeners Wanted'? I've noticed on other projects the DPL has recorded chapters, so there obviously is no reason why not just I don't know the procedure...

I'd like to read some of these, but the Gutenberg-link doesn't work??

Edit: Now the link works.
I'd like to read Princess Goldenhair, Sleeping Beauty and Bluebeard. Actually, I'd like to read them all, but don't want to seem too greedy.

Thank you for pointing that out - I had left off an 's' Should work now.

Which stories are you interested in?
