A Charming Fellow by Frances Eleanor Trollope (1835 - 1913) .

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on the catalog page for this project: http://librivox.org/a-charming-fellow-by-frances-eleanor-trollope/
A scathing criticism of social climbing underlies this unsettling story by Frances Eleanor Trollope, sister-in-law to Anthony and daughter-in-law to Frances Milton Trollope. Published in 1876, A Charming Fellow is a serious exploration of a bitterly unhappy marriage and its consequences, as seen through the eyes of diverse, well-drawn characters. (Summary by Angela Rowland)
  • Target completion date: 2013-Sep-01
  • Text source (only read from this text!):
    Volume I: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35428

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Carolin and Lyn,
Thanks for stepping up so quickly! This IS an interesting book...I think you'll like it, even though it's quite dark. I'll be on a trip this week and will start recording when I return.

It does. And Anjela is a great reader. You are going to have fun as her dpl!
The etext you linked to as only volume I. Please add the links to the other 2 volumes.

Yes, thanks, Stav. I need to make these corrections to the page: Add the letters "ers" at the end to finish the word "characters." And add these two links for the 2nd and 3rd volume. Carolin, can you do this? I don't know how to make a change now that the page is launched. Or you can tell me how to do it!

easily fixed: there is an "edit" button on the top right corner of every one of your posts, if you click it, you will be able to fix whatever you want :)

i had already fixed your summary in the database, and the texts of the other volumes might have waited until we actually get there (i checked on gutenberg if they were there and as they were, i didnt consider this a problem), but i added them for you (and mostly for our dpl) now.

Well, that was so easy that I feel dumb. But now I've discovered that I left a chapter out: There are actually 61 sections, not 60, and I can't see how to change that. No hurry...it will be a long time before I've read 60 sections.
