Hi, Dan--I've got a few things on this one since WP PL'ing, but let me know if you want to leave any of these as is.

Section 24:
--At ~6:08 the text shows "...that thus the light ne'er leaves the spots it shines on"--but I hear "...that thus the light ne'er leaves the spot it shines on"
--At ~6:41 please check your pronunciation of "inviolable"
--At ~13:12 the text shows "...The four most mighty members the world"--but I hear "...The four most mighty members of the world"
Kind regards,
Lucretia

Hi Lucretia,

Regarding the first two points, I'll look into those and provide corrections.
Regarding the third point, I'm sorry that I forgot to mention, the Dover edition has "of the world", while the Gutenberg version just has "the world". Since the preposition seemed to be needed, I went with the Dover edition on this one.

Thanks,

Dan

Sounds good, Dan. "...of the world" does seem to make more sense in the context of your reading. :)

I've uploaded the revised version of Section 24:

https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/onthenatureofthings_24_lucretius.mp3

Duration: 16:29
Size: 15.1 MB

To deal more effective with the "spots" misreading, I re-recorded the whole long sentence in which it appears, starting at about 5:47 with "Indeed your earthly beacons...", and ending at around 6:22 with "By the swift birth of flame from all the fires." So please give a listen to that whole revised section.

Also, I corrected my misreading of "inviolable", which now appears at about 6:44.

Thanks a bunch!

Dan

Hi, Dan--Got a few notes here. But includes "the" again (one omitted, one added), so it may be like the previous Dover text difference? You can let me know what you prefer to leave as is. If you can't tell, I feel quite guilty noting the errant "the" here and there.

Section 25:
--At ~8:44 the text shows "...Realms of the air in which it roots and lives"--but I hear "...Realms of air in which it roots and lives"
--At ~12:05 the text shows "...are by sky enclosed"--but I hear "...are by the sky enclosed"
--At ~13:04 the text shows "...Exist throughout the universal All"--but I hear "...Exist throughout the universe All"
Kind regards,
Lucretia

As always, thanks for catching my omissions and insertions. Any time "guilt" rears his ugly head  as you are reporting these (even in the case of too-oft-neglected definite articles), then please show that surly gentleman the door and carry on, guilt-free! I appreciate the focus on 100% accuracy!! 8-)

I'll get these problems fixed soon.

THANKS!!

Dan
