I'll fix the "Lebedieff" pronunciation soon, just FYI. :)

Let me just say that I practiced this character's name more than any other character I have had thus far! :D I may still not have it! lol! So if it is off, let me know, and I will keep practicing. :D I went through a couple of variations in her voicing. I see this crotchety old woman walking around, fussing at everyone, with that "scary, old woman's voice," but it seemed a little distracting when I did that way; however, she such a short (albeit hilariously funny) part that it would take not time at all to go back and do it in that "scary old woman's voice". Just let me know.

I love Chekhov's plays! I actually teach an acting class based on his work. I've never read Ivanov, so I'm excited about the prospect of being involved.

Is the role of PAUL LEBEDIEV still available?

What pronunciation for the last name did you settle on?

Hi Caprisha, I'm sure that what you've done is perfectly fine, but I'll feel free to let you know if I'd like anything different. Thanks!

Hi Cliff,

I'd be very glad to have you!

Miss Avarice has recorded a pronunciation guide for all the character names, which is also linked in the first post of the thread. Feel free to listen - Lebediev sounds to me something roughly like LAY-be-dyev, with the accent on the first syllable.

I look forward to hearing him!

Are we to read the stage directions that appear within our dialogue? "He crosses to the apgarden" or "pensively". That sort of thing?

The narrator usually reads the stage directions so that each character can focus on his or her role, more like it would be performed. :D

No. The narrator's job is to read any and all stage directions, yours is to read your character's lines (informed by those stage directions). Thanks!
