Here are the Narrator and Prologue files:

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/earthspirit_1_narratorprologue.flac
(21:27) - this includes both narration and the Prologue together, so you don't have to edit them together.

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/earthspirit_2_narrator.flac
(14:50)

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/earthspirit_narrator_3.flac
(8:20)

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/earthspirit_narrator_4.flac
(14:40)

Sorry for the wonky numbering on the first two files. These files have not been noise-cleaned, but should clean up okay.

I've included absolutely everything, including adverbs, and as you know I'm fine with you editing out superfluous narration.

Ooooo, I love your reading of the Prologue! What a great way to begin this play! :)

Thanks as always, Elizabeth!

You're quite welcome. It's summer break and I don't have much to do, and I'm at my computer quite often, so I might as well contribute to the glorious effort to freely disseminate valuable knowledge for the betterment of humanity.

...or something like that.

Here is act 4 of Schigolsch

url http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/earthspirit_schigolsch_4.mp3

I am really enjoying doing these plays. I find Schigolsch a fascinating character, even though he's basically a lecherous old drunk. He is also manipulative and probably sexually abused and exploited Lulu as a child as well as being her protector. Not a nice character at all.

Apparantly Wedeking originally planned an opening scene in which Schigolsch is shown 'selling' a 12 year old Lulu to Doctor Schoen for sex. He dropped the idea as it would have caused censorship problems, but it would have given more insight into the realationship of both Schigolsch and Schoen to Lulu.

On to the 2nd play - that one may take a bit longer.

Thanks Alan. Great job, as before!

Aside from the censorship issues, I can imagine the difficulties of staging that prologue. But, geez... what a dark, unrelenting, and despairing scene that would've been!

And I agree that Schigolsch is one heckuva character... perhaps one of the most despicable men of Western literature!

Here is Act 1 for Lulu...

I tried to make each "I don't know" sound a little different so I hope I was successful. This is Lulu's boring Act!

Reiterating something I've said elsewhere: Aaaaargh!

Sorry about the unexplained absence, everyone! Things got a little hectic on this end, but should be clearing up soon. Now let's see what I've missed...

Thanks for the first batch of Lulu recordings, Amanda. I gave them all a quick listen, and it's all big grins and thumbs up on my end. Great stuff!

And thank you, Ian, as always!
