Garasudono uchi by Soseki Natsume (1867 - 1916) .

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

http://librivox.org/garasudono-uchi-by-natsume-soseki/

'Garasudono uchi' is Natsume Soseki's last essay, which was written between 'Kokoro' & 'Michikusa'. (Summary by Wikipedia)
  • Target completion date: 2012-Aug-31
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.aozora.gr.jp/cards/000148/files/760_14940.html
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello everybody,
Let me explain about this work.
This is translated into English under the title 'Inside My Glass Doors' in 2002 according to Wikipedia.
There're 110 pages in a pocket book. So it takes nearly 2 hours to read.
The number of proof listeners in Japanese has increased recently. So I think I can find DPL.

Cheers,
Masa

Hi, Masa san,

I did PL for Section 1-5. The followings are minor issues I noticed.
Otherwise, those sections are PL OK :D
*********
Section 1:
Read twice

Section 2:
The beginning sounds to be rather abrupt

Section 3:
The beginning sounds to be rather abrupt

Read as 「あつらえてやった」

Section 5:
Read as 「立ったなりぎょっと」

Read as 「かたわらだろう」

Read as 「いえのもの」

Hello dill san,
Thank you for proof listening.
I've re-updated section 1, 3 and 5.
dill wrote:Section 1:

Read twice
Fixed. Please confirm.
dill wrote:Section 2:

Excuse me. But I can't understand.
Are you talking about this?
>> No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!
Then there're 0.5 silence at 2 & 3 sections.
dill wrote:Section 3:

Fixed. Please confirm.

Section 4 is PL OK.

Can you be DPL for this project?
If you accept DPL, you can get access to MW. Then you can change 'PL needed' to 'PL OK'.
Even though you become DPL, you don't need to proof listen to all.

Cheers,
Masa

Good afternoon,

I did PL for Section 1, 3 and 4 for the update and all of them are confirmed.

Then there're 0.5 silence at 2 & 3 sections.
I think the reason why I felt its start as rather abrupt is not because of the length of the silence at the beginning, but because of omitting a subject in the Japanese sentence. Simply because I unconsciously expected a full sentence without any particular reason, I felt rather abrupt for the first time. From the second time onward, I am used to the style of the first sentence, so I think it is not an issue.

So all of the section 1-5 are PL OK :D

I will try to do PL for as many sections as I can, but I am afraid I would not be able to become DPL as I am going away for holiday during August, and I am not confident to take care of (or find somebody else to) all of the sections by the target completion date. Sorry!

Nonetheless, I find listening and reading Soseki quite fun, so I will try to do PL for as many sections as possible.
Regards

Jo san,
Thank you for your support.
magicrose san offered me to proof listen to this project. I asked her to be DPL.
She is new to LibriVox. She is now struggling with her first recording. So for the moment
this project goes without DPL.

Cheers,
Masa

Hello, Masa san!

I'm sorry I forgot to send a PL-OK! message to this forum yesterday.
I was too sleepy to remember that.

I confirmed your files.
I think they are all fixed.
