Here is my first recording. I cleaned it up a few times and used the Checker program (it passed) but I'm concerned there is a little bit of background noise (courtesy of my dog). Please have a listen and let me know!

Thank you, Rebecca! It sounds fine on my laptop speakers. I'll take another listen tomorrow when I have my headphones handy.eightambliss wrote:Here is my first recording. Hi James,
Welcome to Librivox! Could you tell me what name you would like for your catalog page - can be your real name or pseudonym, whatever you prefer. We can also link to a personal website or blog.
Just a few little things: First it is best to actually request a section in the thread before recording and submitting it. Someone else could come along while you are recording and request it - and it is usually first one to ask gets it. Also, sometimes it may have been requested already and the BC hasn't had a chance to fill in the Magic Window - you just never know!
OK, on to your recordings. There are a few technical problems. First off the file is in wav even though the extension says mp3. Also they are in STEREO and we need them to be in MONO. There is also a lot of background noise, which could use some noise cleaning. I was unable to check the bit rate, because it is in wav.
I've put you down for these three sections. If you could fix the technical issues and re-upload that would be great! Then when they are fixed, the proof listener can listen to them for you!
Also, one other little thing, the running time rounded up to the nearest second would be fine!
Thanks!

Hi there... I'm new to LibriVox, and just posted my test tonight. I haven't been officially cleared yet (although I ran it through the Checker, and it passed the application's tests). I hope that'll happen tomorrow, and once I am I would love to record the following in this project if they are still available?
052- The Lion and the Mouse
062 - The Magpie's Nest: An English Folk Tale
065 - Miss Tabby Gray by Maud Lindsay
102 - A Letter from a Cat by Helen Hunt Jackson
103 - Fairy and Child by Eugene Field
129 - The Doll Under the Briar Rosebush by Jorgen Moe
Thanks so much!

Hi Jeannie,
Welcome to Librivox! I just checked your test for you and gave it an OK!
Could you let me know under what name you would like to be listed in the catalog? It can be your real name or a pseudonym, whatever you prefer! We can also link to a personal website or blog.
The sections you requested are all yours! Please read the first post of this thread carefully, and of course have fun!
Thanks!
