thanks, you too! Can I just double check about the amplification? When I am on Audacity and I go to Amplify, is it supposed to be at 6 or 4? hope that makes sense.
sorry but will get there, it is a bit of a learning curve for me still.

Depending on how loud you record the amplification number will vary. A slight change in intensity or position can vary your volume. For chapter 16 use -2 and that will bring you back in range.

For the future, if you want to check the volume I suggest the checker. It's a program designed for LV and is very simple to use. Check here for more details: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=36489 The program may be downloaded from here: https://cgjennings.ca/checker.html

Sounds good. Don't get overwhelmed. It take time to get your system on all this set up. Post if you have any other questions.

Hi Lynda,
You certainly had a LV day! Thank you for all of your help on this project.

Chapter 28 PL note
27:44 repeat – if she had, the girls would have been afraid

Chapter 29 PL note
7:07 repeat/stumble – If Mrs. Cupp knew we were doing this, she’d have a sure-enough ‘conniption,’

Chapter 30 is PL OK

Hi Ellies,
I'm confused. Did you re-record the entire chapter? There was only one little edit to make along with ending silence but your overall file duration jumped from 9:03 to 10:42. I don't have a file at 10:05. I'll wait on PL until we figure this out.

Hi, sorry yes I did. It was because I found the deleting and coping/pasting/re-recording took longer than just to start again. Is that ok?

I have re-edited chapt 17.
here it is:

https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/nansherwoodatlakeviewhall_17_carr.mp3
As it is the evening for me here, I will not be able to look at either again till tomorrow (Tues).

hope this one is better.

Actually, it isn't something that we recommend, especially for chapter 16 where there was only a minor edit and ending silence to correct. We would much rather you record something else than keep recording the same thing over and over. Also, when you post with corrections we only spot check the areas where there was a PL note. This cuts down on the PL time. When you do re-record a full section please be sure to post that it needs a full PL again. Without your telling us we would never know and therefore there could be new problems that wouldn't be fixed and end up in the catalog.

Here's a video which you might find helpful for editing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLdJsoGQc9c
