No Great Magic by Fritz Leiber (1910 - 1992) .

This project is complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/no-great-magic-by-fritz-leiber/

Volunteers outside the USA: Fritz Leiber died in 1992. The author's work is still protected by copyright in places, like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1955) or Canada (author's death plus 50 years).
They were a traveling group of Shakespearean players; perfectly harmless, right? wrong. For one thing, why did they have spacemen costumes in their wardrobes, next to caveman ones? Why was the girl in charge of backstage suffering from amnesia and agoraphobia? No Great Magic is needed to perform the plays they put on, but sometimes great science. No matter where, or when. (Summary by Phil Chenevert) (Summary by Phil Chenevert )
  • Target completion date: 2012-Oct-01
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/23162
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Dave. I hope you have been involved in the theater somewhere in your past or present because this story smells heavily of greasepaint. The first first chapter is finished and is well written with lots of mystery and dangling clues that make me want to read more. A good story so far.

OK Craig. Just uploaded the last chapter and ready for when you return in June. As always, let me know of anything that needs fixin' .

Hope your trip was successful. A strange story but well written I thought.

Oh yes, the next one is really short but a fun story called Arm Of the Law by Harry Harrison. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=39914.

A real change of pace.
