I've got a question on reading a part of footnote #5.

How does one voice "Grundl. dd. Moral."
Hi,

This is an abbreviation of the title of another of his works 'Über die Grundlage der Moral'

So I guess say that!

No worries, glad to help!

Also, I have a question! I'm a little confused what ought to be read in place of [Chapter] for the start and end additions to the text. For Section #6, which I'm currently reading, I guess it should be [First Book. The World As Idea. First Aspect. Section 8.] and at the end [End of First Book. The World As Idea. First Aspect. Section 8.]?

Or should it be some other combination of section/paragraph/chapter number/description?

Could someone please give an example of what constitutes the 'chapter name' for section #6?

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks,
Dan

I'm not sure I did it right. But I can give you what I did for Section 04's intro. (The Sections 5 and 6 refer to sections of the book.)

First Book, First Aspect, Sections 5 and 6 of The World as Will and Idea. This is a LV recording. All LV recordings are in the public domain. For more info, or to volunteer, please visit LV DOT org.

The World as Will and Idea, Volume I, by Arthur Schopenhauer. Translated by R. B. Haldane, and J. Kemp. First Book, First Aspect, Sections 5 and 6.

It doesn't need changing but let me explain about the introduction
It goes
intro1
disclaimer
intro 2

THe intro 1 bit was added at the request of listeners who were either visually challenged , or using mp3 players without screens which do not remember where you stopped listening
So they need to flick through the chapters to find their place.

So the intro 1 bit needs to be brief and to the point
Where the book has chapters we normally just say "Chapter 3 of the World as will and idea"
When there are no chapters or long chapters or short chapters so each file is not equal to a chapter saying "Section 3 of the World as Will and Idea"

Then the disclaimer
Then the book, author , part you are reading which can be chapter, paragraph or whatever, translator.

Hope this makes it clearer

Anne

Edit - I checked the first post - this is exactly what it asks for , so the short answer is - do what it says in the first post :D

i was in a fix about this
but
at the start [First Book. The World As Idea. First Aspect. Section 8.] and at the end [End of First Book. The World As Idea. First Aspect. Section 8] would be real good.thanks donnaboon.
this will make it clean and neat for the listeners.

Sorry if my initial question wasn't clear - I wasn't confused about the generalities of the system more the specifics required for this particular book. I was confused as to whether to speak of sections, chapters or paragraphs!

It's sorted now though, and thanks for the info anyway :)
