How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?

Section 02 has been uploaded, with a duration of 13:24.47.

This is my very first "official" LibriVox recording, so I look forward to feedback (including the potential, "You screwed up, try again!").

Volunteers outside the USA: A.A. Milne died in 1952. The author's work is still protected by copyright in places, like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, and Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1955).

Hi Phil,

I see you have the date of death as 1952.

Wikipedia, that bastion of Internet Knowledge (you need Strategic Capitals when referring to Milne), says he died in 1956:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._A._Milne

This might have significance for readers in Australia, where the copyright depends on if the author died after 1955.

Would you please update the information?

Thanks!

Adam.

Of course Pamela. all four are yours unless someone else already has them (I haven't checked).
Yep, they are yours to enjoy.

Section 2: Correction needed

1:25 cut off and restarted at 1:33 - remove the cut off bit at 1:25

Otherwise very nice!

Sounds like it should be simple to correct. I think I know what happened in the editing process.

Thanks!

I assume I just upload with the same filename and then post here when the file has been replaced?

Attempt number two for section two!

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/phi/sunnyside_02_milne.mp3

A short section meant to be edited out was inadvertently left in. That has now been taken care of. Hopefully this version will suit!

Hi, Phil. [from Eb Thomas]

I'd like to claim chapter 05 ("The Season's Prospects") and chapter 20 "The Visitor's Book.

It will be only the second time I've done anything for Librivox, and--fair warning--I'll probably make some foolish mistakes. But then, you seem to be a pretty patient guy. I'm counting on that, anyway.

Welcome to Librivox, Eb and you are most welcome to sections 5 and 20. I notice that you have not done your 1 minute test but instead uploaded a huge 30+ minute section. Wow, that's a lot of work for a first section!

I took the liberty of analyzing your upload and all the tech specs are fine but the volume is too low. Yours is about 81 dB and we aim at 89 dB. If you are using Audacity that should be easy to fix. The purpose of the 1 minute test is to get your tech specs right and volume in the right range before you commit to larger stuff.

To check your volume try this video I madeHow to Check your Volume with MP3Gain or How to Tell Your Volume in Audacity.

I have lots of videos that 'try' to help people so please browse the link in my signture. I also recommend the ones that explore our Forum. Enjoy recording and ask any questions at all; we are indeed a friendly bunch here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9WF82rf81o

Hello, I'd like to take on 37, Bad Lord Blight,
this will be the first longer prose piece for me.
Can someone give me a lesson in British currency? There is a line that includes " L5 17s 6d" , which I believe would be 5 pounds, 17 shillings, and what's 6d ?? thanks. nbvoices
