Florence Short here.

Patience is a virtue. This is the first time i have recorded with the new Audacity. When I clicked on this mp3 file on my desktop, I DIDN'T HEAR A THING.
Usually, I hear it in i tunes. Can you open it? Okay, I'm sending it. If it is just silence then..... I'll seek more advice.

I apologise to everyone who has submitted. I have been busier and more stressed than expected this week and have not found any time to listen to your submissions. (And I have been very late in listening to them for the past 2 weeks or so, regular contributors may have noticed.) I have asked for another volunteer to take over BCing this week, and I shall hopefully be back stress-free and much more promptly after my exams. Again I am sorry for the delay in listening to your submissions, but I am sure they are all fantastic and thank you all very much for contributing.
So little space, so much to say.

Lucy: you have enough on your plate with exams, so please don't stress about Oscar! I'm just happy to do the recordings and know that there are terrific volunteers like you who do all the technical stuff to get our offerings sorted and on the site - it is certainly aptly named the Magic Window!

Take care and good luck with all the exams,

No problem Lucy, good luck on the exams. :)

The MW is populated, I hope to listen to all before cataloging.

* Elizabeth_Ross - I changed your filename to the posted project filename, and deamplified a bit. Please let me know under what name would you like to appear in the LV catalog and if you have one, we can put your personal URL link on your catalog page too.

Florence, your recording with Audacity2 comes through fine, I don't know why you cannot hear it at your end. :hmm:

All the files are PL OK except the three listed below:

Snapdragon The title ID tag is missing your initials "Symphony in Yellow - Read by YOUR INITIALS"

Vandermast Everything is great except there are no ID tags

FAMOsa Good job, but a few little things need to be fixed. There are five seconds of silence at the beginning, and there should be no more than one. In the intro you say "read for Librivox" instead of "read for Librivox.org" Not a biggie I wouldn't think. :-) Also there are 7 seconds of silence at the end with several loud clicks mixed in. If you could make it no more than 5 and cut out the clicks that would be great!

David : The file you said was deamplified and reuploaded for Elizabeth is not there and I can't find it in the uploader. I did listen to the original and it is fine except for the volume of course - so I imagine the corrected file is PL OK!

Hello Maria san,
Thanks for proof listening.
As a user of Audacity on Linux, let me explain the situation.
>> Vandermast Everything is great except there are no ID tags
I've checked his file on Linux

$ eyeD3 symphonyinyellow_wilde_jcm.mp3

symphonyinyellow_wilde_jcm.mp3 [ 729.95 KB ]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time: 00:46 MPEG1, Layer III [ 128 kb/s @ 44100 Hz - Mono ]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ID3 v2.4:
title: Symphony in Yellow - Read by JCM artist: Oscar Wilde
album: LibriVox Weekly Poetry year: None
track:
Comment: [Description: ] [Lang: ]
Recorded by Jason Mills

------------------------------------------------
So his file carries ID tags. The problem is that it's v2.4. LibriVox accepts v2.3.

Jason san,
I agree v2.4 is better than v2.3. But I suppose it's better to use v2.3 to avoid
unnecessary confusion.
I use 'id3v2' to add v2.3 ID tags on Linux. Somebody posted he or she uses
'eyeD3'.

Cheers,
Masa

I have no preference for v2.4 tags, I just have no way of choosing otherwise in Audacity! This has been the case since forever.

However, I have just now installed Kid3-qt, a Linux gizmo for tag-twiddling. If it worked, it was surprisingly easy! Somebody tell me if they're right on this version:

Here's my submission : http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/dl/symphonyinyellow_wilde_wm.mp3

Time : 56 seconds.

I like the way the symphony in yellow ends in green.
