Lancelot, or The Knight of the Cart by Chretien de Troyes (12th century). Translated by William Wistar Comfort (1874 - 1955).
Volunteers outside the USA: William Wistar Comfort died in 1955. The author's work is still protected by copyright in places, like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years.
This medieval French romance is the oldest surviving work about Lancelot. When Queen Guinevere is abducted by Meleagrant, Lancelot must face many trials, physical, emotional, and social, to rescue her. (Summary by Libby Gohn)
  • Target completion date: 2013-October-31
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/831
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Done - not sure how you are dividing it - but the usual title field thing , start it with 01, 02 etc to keep it playing in order.

Have fun :D

Section 1 is up, and 2 should follow shortly. Then Dramatic Works will take over my life for a couple of weeks, so I'll wait until then to look for a DPL.

I've started recording section 3, so I've posted in Listeners/Editors Wanted to snag a DPL.

PL section 01 is all ok! :) From 08:15 there is a faint background noise when you read, but it is very faint and nothing to worry about, as far as I'm concerned:)
