Is he in any of the same acts as Mr. Kelvil? If so, I'd like to hold off just a bit before doubling, if you don't mind. Otherwise you're welcome to him. :)

Yes he is, I'm afraid. He only has a couple of lines, but they are in Act1, and so is Kelvil.

Anyway, If you are stuck........ :)

You surely may! I see that your test recording is all taken care of, which is a great first step. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you. It looks like Farquhar has just one line in the entire play, a line of exactly three words! This is not a complaint. How different the economics of theater must have been in those days when you could employ an actor to say three (not very important) words! I presume the name "Daubeny" is pronounced with two syllables, something like "DAUB nee."

Yep, that's how I would pronounce it. I wonder if the original production had someone doubling with another role.

Some directors like to give themselves cameo roles - Alfred Hitchcock and Peter Jackson (of the Lord of the Rings trilogy) both did this too. It is hard to direct and have a signifiant part, but a minor or non-speaking role gets them on stage. My musical group director also does this - just wanders on for part of a scene at the dress rehearsal...
