Just saw your request for additional chapter, that's fine of course. No problem about not being able to record this week; when you can.

Hello opheliad.

Our school play Private Peaceful was very successful, bringing out talents in our young people so infrequently expressed in everyday school life. If you have a moment, have a look at the pictures and write-up on the web. :P Now just school reports to complete and term-time is over for three weeks!

Please may I have the next chapter?

Hawden.

Glad to hear the school play went well. The pictures are absolutely stunning, a lot of work must have gone into all those costumes! Sounds like a fascinating story, too - I'd like to see/read it one day.

Thanks for that chapter, and I'll put you down for the next in line.

We're almost there with this book - hooray!

Hello opheliad.

Please find Book 4 Chapter 5 - Concerning the Mendicant's Bride at:
http://www.sevenoaksprep.kent.sch.uk/LibriVox/ourmutualfriend_bk4_05_dickens.mp3

What a wonderful chapter - Libby Perves once said that books didn't have to hold a candle to (sordid) reality, they could hold a BEACON to it! Dickens certainly has done that with the idealised romance in this chapter. What's the point of literature without some good old-fashioned ESCAPISM?

Please may I have another chapter?

Thanks for the chapter, it's downloading now.

You are very right, Dickens has it all! It's escapism with depth and breadth that leaves you a better person - and that's by far the best kind. :) :D

I'll put you down for the next chapter.

Is section 58 still free?

If so, can I take it... and move us to Readers Found?

Ok, Readers Found it is!! Thanks David, I'll put you down for 58. :D

Hawden, my download of your chapter before this one was interrupted and now does not appear to be on the server. Would you mind re-loading it when you can? I should have the current chapter safely tucked away within the next 10 minutes or so, so you can remove it then.

Even though we'll shortly be in Readers Found, I'll send out some friendly reminders to people I've not heard from in a while and see if any other chapters either come in or become available again. Watch this space.
