Thanks Chuck, If it weren't for the silence at the end I could have fixed the ID tags. I won't mark it completed just yet. I think I will listen to the whole book start to finish LOL YEAHHHHHH

Tell me what I need to do to fix it. Is the silence at the end too long? In the first one I did it wasn't long enough. I have been downloading the other chapters and put them in my ipod and checked them out on my drive to work. Not having read the whole text, it's good to finally get the whole story. I enjoyed it as much as Huckleberry Finn, which I had never experienced until I met you guys. I noticed that the files have an extremely wide dynamic range. I found myself turning up the volume quite a lot and in the next chapter I was blown out of my seat. Does this get fixed when the coordinatoe puts the finished package together? And I did notice a couple repeats in a couple of chapters. Should I make a note of them to be fixed too? I think I am getting pretty good at this Audacity, learning all the whistles and bells of the software and finding little tricks to smooth things out.

I found out how to fix it. I trimmed off the back end and redid the ID tags for Chapter 1

I've downloaded the fixed chapter 1.
There are 5 sec silence at the end.
The ID tag looks good to me.
Let's see what Starlite says :D

Thanks Chuck! Looks good to me too

I wonder when you got the files you l istened to? Maybe we handn't done the edits yet but if you can point them out to me that would be good. Oh and the validator does test the volume of the various recordings so we can sort that out then.

Thanks all!! This is ready for going to the catalogue!

GREAT!!!

I grabbed the files from the first page of this forum a few days ago so maybe you already caught these-

Ch 6 1:31 "deleterous" pronounced deleterious

Ch 12 1:24 Repeat "The price of a ticket counted in those days..."

Ch 12 3:26 Repeat "And the green bass..."

I've been listening to the entire book on my hour commute to work and I am so excited to be part of this project. Thanks for letting me help! I'm looking forward to the next book.

Thanks Chuck, Yes I got those. You must have picked up the files before I replaced them. As for my next project (Drum roll please) I am coordinating the second volume of "The Chronicles Of Canada Series" here:

Stop by and pick up a chapter. :)

Is chapter one still orphaned? If not, could the orphaned announcement be removed so that others don't come to claim the chapter like I just did ...

Thanks!
