hey, so i'm new on libricox but think it's quite cool - i'll take any of the chapters that aren't already taken. i've already read the book in both french and english, so knowledge of the story and pronunciation shouldn't be a problem. 8)

Thanks for Chapter 2 betsie. I'll listen to it a little later tonight and let you know. I'm sure it is great. I'll put up the Prologue later today as well.

achin4aiken - let me know what chapters you want. Pretty much everything from 8 to the end is available. It'll be great to have someone comfortable with french for this.

bah! ... Chapter 2 would have been a good one for you then... there's an entire paragraph of French and Italian opera names.... would you mind taking a listen to my chapter and let me know if it's understandable? =)

i don't know if these are answered yet, but:

Buquet - pronounce it like a bouquet of flowers, that's as close as you're
going to get for a non French speaker

Lahore - la-Ar (think 'bar' without the B)

Siguar - say 'cigar' with a french accent

Comte - koN-t (NOT kohm-TAY!)

Daae - dah-ey

Debienne - deh-bee-N (like the letter N)

Actually if you'd like, Chapter 1 also has a lot of the French names in it. I didn't get around to recording it yet, so I'll give that to you and move myself down to chapter 8.

Betsie - the recording sounds great to me. My brother in law would be perfectly happy with it
