1 Chronicles of The Bible, King James Version .

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/1-chronicles-by-king-james-version/
Written to aid those returning to Israel after the exile to understand how to worship God. 1 Chronicles covers the ascent and reign of King David.
  • Target completion date: March 2011
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/8013
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): Standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project will be opened up to a group project as soon as a Book Coordinator can be found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to have it re-instated).

Happy to MC this one also for you, thadine! Give me a couple of minutes to set up the Magic Window.

ETA: MW fixed. Don't forget to fix the intro and outro. Let me know if you need anything else. We'll wait here for a couple of days to see if we can pick up a DPL.
Have fun with your solo! :)

Thanks, neerajanagarajan :)

I've started recording, and have been powering through them. If we get a dpl soon, I may end up finishing this sooner than I had anticipated.

I've moved us to Going Solo. I guess you could advertise for a PL/DPL, if you haven't already. :)

Chapter 01 - PL OK!
Chapter 02 - PL OK!
Chapter 03 - 02:50 ... the sons of Shechaniah. [Skipped "And the sons of Shechaniah;"] Shemaiah: ...

If it helps, the little bit you skipped is on this page: http://www.gutenberg.org/catalog/world/readfile?fk_files=1469176&pageno=9, the second paragraph i.e. Chapter 3, Verse 22.

But WOW! No idea how you learned to pronounce all those names - I am thoroughly impressed. Great job!!

:D I'm sure 90% of them are pronounced incorrectly, but who's going to know?

Thanks for the offer, neerajanagarajan; if I get lots of free time soon, I'll let you know.

I forgot to ask to PL the other 2 chapters, hope you don't mind!

Chapter 04 - PL OK
Chapter 06 - PL OK

By the way, I just realised you weren't looking for proof listening against the text, so ignore my notes for Chapter 03, it's PL OK. :D

No problem, Iris. I will edit that file. Word-perfect listening is always much appreciated. I only ask for standard so as not to tax my proof listener(s). It's harder to find someone willing to do word-perfect, but if you're up for it, so am I!
