Please see the first post of this thread.
We have two auditions for the role of Count Fosco, and they are both fabulous! Please listen to both and vote for your favorite.
The poll will run for three days.
Thank you to both Chip and Ian for auditioning. :):)

Oh man thats a hard decision!! They are both amazing. I base my descision on technical quality mostly as the voices are both great!tina wrote:Please see the first post of this thread.

A very difficult decision! Nearly impossible to choose.

Just out of curiosity, I haven't seen a post about a deadline. When are we hoping to get this done?
In my experience, nothing ruins a party like someone suddenly speaking Latin in reverse.

Our poll ended last night, and Ian is the favorite to read Count Fosco. Thanks to everyone who voted, and especially to Chip and Ian for their wonderful performances!
(Update: Oops! I put 'Len' in this post the first time--sorry Ian!)

Congratulations Ian
Wow The audition thing appealed to the competitive part of my nature, I guess, and I should shake the hand of my rival for the part of Fosco. It was a great recording, Chip, if I might be permitted to say so. Thanks to everyone who voted, and hope the proper recording will do justice to the part and the whole project. Really looking forward to task.
Will be out of town for the next week, but will get cracking immediately after that.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm working on chopping up the text into workable sections and thinking of how to deal with the disclaimers and credits.
My thoughts:
* Each track will be about an hour long, suitable for burning onto an audio CD
* Beginning of each track will have the LV disclaimer followed by 'The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. Track ##'
* The first track will have the entire cast list. I think the best way to do this would be to have each person record in wav format their part (e.g. 'Mrs. Catherick read by Tina Tilney') and edit them together in order of appearance.
* The following tracks would have the LV disclaimer, introduction, and the cast list of whomever was appearing in that track only.
* The end of each track would have 'End of track ##'
* The end of the final track would have 'End of track ## and end of 'The Woman in White' by Wilkie Collins. Read by <insert entire cast list again>
Please jump in with your thoughts, comments, improvements.

Hey there,
Okay, I'd like to audition for Count Fosco. Here's my piece. Thanks and enjoy:

Edit; Uh, I thought I read all the posts, sorry. Never mind.
Might want to change the first post.

Oh dear... I thought I *had* changed the first post, but my computer crashed the other night, and the post edit must not have gone through.

I have broken up the book into 38 parts, which are listed in the first post of the thread. Also, I discovered a letter from Anne Catherick in track 4, which Ezwa will be reading for us.
