The Bobbsey Twins at the Seashore by Laura Lee Hope.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/the-bobbsey-twins-at-the-seashore-by-laura-lee-hope/
In this third volume of the “Bobbsey Twin Series”, the twins – Nan and Bert and Freddie and Flossie – go with their family to visit relatives at the seashore. Excitement and adventure are sure to abound! (Summary by Maria Therese)

  1. How to claim a part, and 'how it all works' here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are “up for grabs.” Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you’d like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim (or by the target completion date, whatever is sooner). Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it’ll go back to the pool. There’s no shame in this; we’re all volunteers and things happen. The target completion date for this project is 11 April 2011.
  4. Where do I find the text?
Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/6950
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)!
If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: Standard

:D Looks like great fun! The Bobbsey Twins continue their adventures; hi-jinks will surely follow. Do you intend to read some of it, or, will all the sections be open?

Would it be asking too much to request a solo? Yeah, probably.
Thanks again for the quick response on opening this project with me in mind. I am touched and will have fun reading whatever is available! :D :D

Hi Phil,

Happy to do so. If you want to do it as a solo, that is fine with me. Just let me know. I'll probably have to change some things in the template around if you do decide on that.- I'll wait till an MC comes along to let me know for sure.

If you do decide you want to read the whole thing, maybe you can be put in as a co-BC, so that way you can learn how to work on a solo project, and I'll be there to help you if you need it. You are already familiar with the MW, since you are DPL ing, and it's just a little more work than that. :-)

Thanks Elli! Quick question - if Phil decides that he wants to read the entire book, do I need to change anything in the first post?

MW is up! :D

No need. I only have to change a few tiny things in the data base!

Wow, things around here can happen fast! I mention Bobbsey twins as a way for Phil to satisfy his need for reading juvenile "girly things" and a day later we have a MC, BC, and DPL all signed up.

Hi Linny,

I already did those earlier, when I was checking how many chapters there were - just need to fill in that info. Thank you for offering!

Apparently the Bobbsey Twins have a rabid following!
I don't think I'm quite ready for the responsibility and commitment of a solo read. But of course I'll be reading sections about those scamps ! :D

I'd be happy to read sections 03 and 04... sounds like a fun project!

Only the dark, dark night shows to my eyes the stars;
After the clangor of organ majestic, or chorus, or perfect band,
Silent, athwart my soul, moves the symphony true."
