Section 11:

It sounds good. The only suggestion I'd make is to find a way to eliminate the "plink" sounds. I think they might be from your microphone - touching it or bumping it, or if it's a headset, sometimes the movement of your jaw will cause it to make that sound. (I'm referring to the sound like at 10:41, where there's a pretty loud one.)

I'm marking it PL OK. :) Want any more?

Section 17:

15:49 - but he would be feared and bated by him - "bated" has a weird sound to it making it hard to understand

19:01 - read "by a secret police plot against him" should be "by a secret plot laid against him"

Section 18:
1:08 - a 3-4 second silence that should be cut down

2:36 - stumble and repeat: "which thy kinsman hath attained.. which thy kinsman hath attained to"

3:35 - repeat: "and at last she left not off till she engaged him"

3:52 - repeat: "after as... after as sumptuous"

4:39 - stumble and repeat: "for they both sailed to Dicearchia" - correct version at 4:55

5:22 - stumble and repeat: "which are of advantage" - correct version at 5:29

5:55 - stumble and repeat: "with Artabanus"

6:10 - stumble and repeat: "that he had armor"

7:17 - stumble and repeat: "and as becomes thyself in what thou"

9:30 - misread portion - cut out from here to 9:37

9:46 - stumble and repeat: "But Philo, the principal of the Jewish embassage"

10:35 - stumble, pause, repeat "Hereupon Caius"

11:41 - stumble and repeat: "to Ptolemais"

12:57 - stumble and repeat: "by the labors of our ancestors, (we) have continued" - corrected at 13:01

15:58 - stumble and repeat: "and left of... and left off the tillage off their ground"

17:42 - "it was fit for virtuous persons even to die for the sake of such vast multitudes of men" repeated at 17:50

18:56 - stumble and repeat: "as to suffer your temple"

19:31 - stumble and repeat: "though without your consent"

21:15 - sentence repeated at 21:35 (all can be cut from :15-:35)

23:55 - stumble and repeat: "in which I have been formerly deficient"

24:00 - stumble and repeat: "for all that I have bestowed on thee, that may be called my gifts, is but little." repeated at 24:08

25:11 - stumbe and repeat: "and still the more pressed"

25:59-26:04 - about 5 seconds of silence that needs to be cut down some

26:27 - stumble and repeat: "accounts thinking it"

26:41 - stumble and repeat: "and because he greatly admired"

27:56 - "when therefore Caius..." this whole section is repeated at 29:14, so all between 27:56 and 29:14 should be cut out.

29:29 - s&r: "and that for any cause"

29:37 - "but thought the indulging..." section repeated at 29:44 - cut out all :37-:44

30:31 - "by which he understood that Caius was dead" repeated at 30:36

20 seconds of silence at end; only needs 10

Section 19:

1:21 - missing "and, besides its other advantages, full of men also."

1:31-1:36 - about 5 seconds of silence that needs to be cut down

3:36-3:39 - seems like a long silence to me, but use your judgment. ;)

You are exactly correct. I have a headset and I only realized last night that when I move my mouth sometimes it makes that sound. I managed to edit out a lot of the sounds from one of my other recordings. I can try to edit this one again if you think it would help. I have a plan for future recordings to keep from having that happen again, I'll have to test it out and make sure it works. I have another mic but it seems to make me sound as though I have a lisp or something so I haven't used it. I hardly move my mouth tho, this headset must be very touchy. :hmm:

Oh, I just saw the "want any more part" yeah, I'll do another section. Let me look thru them and pick something out and I'll get back to you ! Thank you.

I'll take 12, I guess, It has "madness" and "Cloisters" ! What could be better than that ?

Section 20:

0:00 - a little click at the very beginning of the recording - not required to edit out, but it would be an easy edit. :)

0:45 - stumble and repeat: "the Roman procurator"

Section 21:

6:59 - "wherein he himself was to be slain..." repeated at 7:16

Linda - it's up to you if you want to edit the section. I think it's OK as it is, but if you're a perfectionist, that might not be good enough for you.

I'll put you down for 12. Thanks!

I started re-editing the section and I was just about finished when my power went out ! I was so mad ! I hope my file isn't corrupted...argh !! I haven't checked yet. I was so upset I couldn't look right then. I'll check tomorrow and if the file is ok I'll re-edit. I had all but about 3 of the darn clicks out tho. Grrrrrr, that is so annoying ! Anyway, I really enjoyed recording that section. I love that book tho I had never read it before. That's one of the added benefits of Librivox, you see all these great books you didn't know about ! :D Well, I'll be careful to avoid all the clicks and things on section 12 hopefully my plan to eliminate the noises will work. Thanks ! Linda

May I take Book 17, Ch 11-13? It's the last unclaimed section.

Wow! I don't know what happened with section 18 but that's the uncorrected original recording. I had edited the whole thing but my edited file is the one uploaded. This is really embarrassing to upload it without any corrections. So Sorry you had to waste your time listening to it!

My humble apologies! I really don't know how I ended up with the edited version being the unedited one. Bummer!!!!

I'm redoing the whole thing again. So sorry, Tricia.
