Section 13 is yours, Michelle.

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname, some their real name) and a web site, if you have one. CLICK HERE for an example of what I'm talking about.

Since this is your first recording, you may want to submit a shorter clip (a minute or two) first, so that we can make sure your technical aspects are all correct. It's easier to correct them before recording a section than after. ;) CLICK HERE for instructions on a one-minute test.

Groovy - Did you re-record, or just re-edit? How you did it will affect how I listen. :wink:

Tricia, I will send the sample in the next day or so. First I have to practice all the Greek, Roman, and Hebrew names for a while. Are there any guidelines for pronunciation that works best for the listeners? eg anglicize it, try for the correct pronunciation, or maybe follow what the proceeding reader did?
Kinda revved up to do my first reading!
Michelle

I'll send a name and all when I submit the sample.

Groovy posted a couple links in THIS POST which might help.

You can sometimes find pronunciations online as well. It's really up to you how you want to proceed with the names. Honestly, I don't really research mine much but go with my gut. :wink:

[quote="TriciaG"]Section 17:

15:49 - but he would be feared and bated by him - "bated" has a weird sound to it making it hard to understand

I think the word 'bated' should be 'hated' as bated really doesn't make any sense in this context. Don't know if I can make it clearer but will try.

Section 20 PL OK. :)

Ah - yeah, "hated" sounds better. Very likely a scanning error.

Wish I had time to listen to the corrected versions online but have to get some sleep now. :wink:

I'm also trying to find time to watch the TV series from 1975, "I Claudius" which is about this time period - from the reign of Octavian (first Caesar Augustus) through the reign of Claudius. Most excellent series - they're all available on youtube:

I saw that on video about the year 2000. It would be interesting to see it again, knowing some of the history!
