Hello, erica
There are still problems with your submissions.
First of all, we do need to make sure the stories are in the Public Domain. We are sure they are Public Domain in Korea, with the information Availle gave us, but we don't know if it's PD in the United States. To be PD in the United States it would have to have been written before 1923. This author started writing in 1920. That means these stories would have to be from the very beginning of his career, no later than 1922. Can you please make sure and give us some proof that these texts are pre-1923?
Also, according to the first message in this thread, this is the kind of file name we need:
File name all in lowercase: msw001_[sectiontitle]_[author's last name]_[your initials].mp3
(e.g. msw001_derengel_andersen_rg.mp3)
So, your files would have to look like msw001_sympathy_hyun_eb.mp3. You seem to have uploaded .txt files with the names, but not the audio files with the new names. Also, there can be no spaces in the names. Look at the link you sent us:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/le/B Dormitory Parent and Love Letter-Hyun Jin Gun.txt
It's all broken because it has spaces. It should have no spaces. Also, that is a .txt file, I assume it contains the text of the story you read, but we don't need that, we need the mp3 file, that is, the audio file with the correct names, please. Please, provide us with all that and the catalog name you chose.
Thank you!

Hmm, I compare that situation with, for example, Mark Twain. In the catalog page and in the intros/outros, he's referred to as Mark Twain. But if you type "Samuel Clemens" in the author field of the catalog search, it will show you Mark Twain's books. We use the name he's best known for, but also the real name in the search, in case anyone is looking for him under the real name. What do you think?

I put only the pseudonym in the ID3 tag.
OK, here's the info:
Link to the file: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/le/msw001_zlegenddawnegoegiptu_prus_pn.mp3
Author: Bolesław Prus (real name: Aleksander Głowacki) (1847-1912)
Title: Z legend dawnego Egiptu (published in 1885)
Duration: 11:10
Source of the text: http://literat.ug.edu.pl/prusnow/0008.htm (if the full link doesn't work, go to http://literat.ug.edu.pl/prusnow/index.htm and then select "Z legend dawnego Egiptu")
I know that apart from the basic edition I did there's probably a ton of other things that I should have done to this file before submitting it. My Audacity skills are still quite poor, though. I'd be glad to hear some feedback on what else I can do to make the recordings sound better.

Thanks much, Piotrek. A question: do we have any volunteers that can PL Polish? I can check for noise and volume problems (and I will) but I can't really PL it.
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!

Given that the first post clearly specifies standard PL, I don't think that the lack of Polish-speaking PLer is such a problem. There are tens of languages in the catalogue, and I find it hard to believe that in every single case the relevant piece of reading was PLed by someone who knew the language
Anyway, what if you don't find a person with necessary skills?
Anyway, what if you don't find a person with necessary skills?
Dear Piotrek
Even when it's standard PLing, we strive to get someone who can understand the language to be the proof-listener. Because if I can't understand any Polish, even when doing standard PLing, I might not know, or not notice, mistakes which are obvious to a speaker of the language. For example, if the text has, by chance, something with similar sounds ("Which witch?"), I would mark that as a stumble, when it's actually not. Stumbles should be noted in standard PLing. I would most likely not notice if the listener repeated a long passage, since I have no idea what's going on... and many other situations I am sure you can imagine that may happen if the person is listening without understanding, and could be avoided by a listener who could understand what's being read. So, ideally, we would get a PLer who understands the language.
However, the lack of a Polish-speaking PLer is not such a problem. I was just asking if you knew of a PLer because it's not uncommon, when it comes to languages with few volunteers, that as soon as I put up a request in the appropriate forum, the volunteer says simply "oh, this person could do that!". Being a Portuguese-speaker myself, I can tell you which are the (very few) Portuguese speakers in Librivox that could PL a recording in Portuguese, so, instead of putting up a request in the Listeners Wanted forum, I would probably ask one of them. Don't worry about it though - I have just put up a request, since we need a PLer for the French section as well.
In the few cases I've dealt with where there was no volunteer to PL the section even after some time, we asked the reader to PL it himself. Or we could just skip the PLing, of course, and, in case there is something wrong, we would probably get an error report at some point.
Thanks again,

Yeah, I realize that you wouldn't be able to PL it in depth. I just felt a bit uneasy at the thought that my work might be omitted from the collection because of the lack of a Polish-speaking PLer.
Other thing that bothered me me was that if I decided to do a Polish-language project (and I have at least one in mind) it would drag on and on precisely because of this. I'm glad there's a way out in such a situation
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to explain the issue to me and sorry if what I wrote was rude:)
As to Polish volunteers, I've been here for only a month and I only know one recently active user. I'm PLing his solo. He doesn't seem to log in often, though
