Okay, I'll take you up on that. Here's O. Henry's "After Twenty Years."

Recorded by Dave Ranson

I remember having to read this for English class many years ago (in fact, well over twenty years ago, oddly enough). Never seen it in any anthology since, but never forgot it either. So when I found it at Gutenberg, it seemed to be--to me, anyway--a natural to record. Hope it's OK!

So here's my attempt at it.

Short Story Title: The Last Lesson
Author: Alphonse Daudet
Source: http://www.world-english.org/daudet.doc

So I finally got to test out Audacity with this attempt. It was fun, took a little while but I think I got the hang of it.

Thank you, Dexnell, you sound great! You have a nice clear voice and you read with excellent enthusiasm... I found this story in Project Gutenberg in this collection: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/10577 ... If you don't mind, I'll link to this source since Project Gutenberg is so familiar to everyone and the world-english site doesn't indicate the copyright status of the story.

Also, how would you like your name to appear on the catalog page? Do you have a URL you would like associated with your name?

Use Dexnell Peters as the name for the catalog. I've got no link for now - in the process of getting one though.

Sounds good... if you do have a url later that you would like to add, you can contact me or any of the other Metadata Coordinators (MC) to have them add it to your entries in the catalog =)

Enjoy Librivox! =)

The Damned Thing, by Ambrose Bierce
File: http://www.gregelmensdorp.com/librivox/the_damned_thing_bierce_ge.mp3

Playing time: 21:18

I wasn't sure whether to submit this story here or in the 'Short Ghost Story Collection Vol. 001' But as it has always seemed to me to contain more of science fiction than horror, I went with this collection.

Awesome! Thank you Becky... you sound great, but there isn't any extra silence at the end of the file... would you be able to add at least 5 seconds of silence to the end for me and resend it? or i can do it from here if you prefer =)

LOVE OF LIFE by Jack London

The opening lines of Jack London's short story Love of Life give the reader a stark preview of what is to come. Every life is such a game of chance that none can know how it will all work out in the end, no matter how complacent, or despairing, one feels at any given moment.

The text I used is here:

http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext96/llife10.txt

I will re-export with the proper ID3 tags, file names, etc. and post the links here tomorrow, since it is late and has been a rough day. The two files are appoximately 25 minutes each. Would one file be preferred?

Yes, one file would be prefered if possible since each story stands on it's own in the story collection. Let me know if you would like assistance with putting them together =)
