Thanks. I have added you to the Magic Window.

A warm welcome to your first LibriVox project.

Thanks! By the way, the original posting says "Source text (please only read from this text!): I will provide a link for each section to the text at Google Docs." I'm guessing that may not still be the case since multiple people are involved in managing now, but do you know if I should be looking for that? I can't find individual section text links in the magic window.

Hi there - just wanted to say, because it's been quite a while, that I've finally begun work on Chapter 12.

Here's Chapter 17

URL: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/cm/democracyandeducation_17_dewey.mp3
Duration: 32:26

This is such an interesting chapter. On the cusp of modernity and yet with the information age now in force, I think students entering college, at least in the USA, have understood scientific method since they were in nursery school. Also, they seem unaware of racism and possibly sexism.

Hi!
I would like to read Chapter 18: Educational Values
It is long, but it looks great and I would like to give it a go.
May I upload it as one entire recording? Or, would you like it to be uploaded in two parts (split up in the middle of the chapter)?

Regards,
Luke

Hmmm. Carl hasn't been around for a while, so I'm making this thread up to date. :)

It appears that there are no Google Docs, so just use the Gutenberg text link. :)

Thank you, Shawn and Florence, for your sections!

I've also cleared out some old claims.

Luke - 18 is yours, unless you want to claim one of the newly opened sections, which are shorter. If you want to stick with 18, please record it all as one file.

Hi Tricia,
Just wondering: is it helpful for me to go through my recording afterwards and edit the Audacity file before uploading it? Does the PL usually do the editing (cutting out pauses, excessive breathing sounds, fumbles)?
It's taking me several hours to edit my recording but I can still do it. The file itself is actually over one hour (Chapter 18).

Editing is the reader's job. Submit the file as if it were going straight to the public. The PL is only there to catch things you accidentally missed. :)

I'll read something here. What's left? Assign me something and I'll read it. Jon
